it's to do a list when you've only heard about 5-6 albums on the list. i'll play when i know a majority of the records on the list.

If the first Neu! album is considered as a 71 release, it should probably be in my top three. Everything that I have seen says it was recorded in 71 and released in 72.

That's what I thought, but then the long post said it wasn't so I thought my cd and the website I checked out might be wrong.

Not to be a beggar, but would someone nice post some tracks from/or the complete Bill Fay "Time of Last Persecution" and the Gil Scott-Heron album.
I know that Elephantstone mentioned Fay, and after looking those two up, I think I'm missing something by not giving them a good listen.
If it isn't possible or you only have it on the original vinyl, I completely understand. I just thought it might help some of less knowledgable people learn to appreciate more of these records.

Some great lists so far

I'm going to take everyone's top 10 and make an aggregate top 20 tomorrow.

I think I'm going to do this series at a much slower clip than the last one, probably 1 or 2 per week.

Not trying to be a dick or speak for everyone but I don't think that would really add anything so I'd save yourself the time and effort. To me at least, the individual lists are more interesting than the cumulative rankings and if we want to see cumulative favorites we already have the threads from last year.

It might add something as to what the board views aggregately as essential listening from that year.

Trouble with just referencing last year's polls is that those are just #1's, and say hypothetically they all split the #1's but everyone's #2 is "Electric Warrior". You get the idea.

I do agree that the individual lists are in fact much more interesting than the aggregate though.

if it's a big pain in the ass, I just won't do it.
