Basically, he told told the cops that he was undercover and had to hold up the store and then they called Driscoll and she went along with it, although a bit begrudgingly. She knew that Jack had the right idea about tailing the guy.

She is "taking advantage of the opportunity" so she can get ahead. She slept with the second in command at CTU (forgot his name) and is probably partially doing it out of spite for him. But she is trying to do everything to get ahead. It's kind of annoying to me.
