. Sure, we're probably going to make the playoffs, but we're just going to get embarrassed once we get there. So, what's the point?
The point is getting there. IMO making the playoffs in the NFL is one of the hardest things to do in sports.
1) Anything can happen once you get there. example- look at what happened to Carson Palmer last year. Steelers win the whole thing.
2) You give your fans a reason to be optimistic for next year even if you lose. Business-wise it's fan-tastic.
3) Revenue- one more game = at least 1 million in ticket sales/apparel
4) January NFL games are the shit. None can test the NFL, in the US at least, as far as pure sports entertainment. No matter what team you root for.
5) As shitty as the NFC is, people are still riveted by these December games, ie - revenue.
Congrats to FT. We played good enough to win but the D couldn't come up with a play in the end. D. Hall shouldn't have even been out there. Props to Greg Knapp for opening up the playbook and trying everything possible. The Cowgirls were simply a better team.
Barring an upset against Carolina, that Philly/Falcons game on NYE looks to be for who makes it into the playoffs. (I think)
Also, DO NOT EVER FUCK WITH MORTON FUCKING ANDERSON!!!
