And while it isn't a movie, the show Homicide always had phenominal music used in it, and they're nice enough to include track listings for every episode on the DVDs.

I've mentioned a few times here and there my respect for the show in general and for the use of music specifically.

I've always thought Jonathan Demme films used music very effectively, especially Married to the Mob and Something Wild, maybe just because The Feelies are generously sprinkled throughout both films, especially Something Wild, where The Feelies make a cameo as a band playing the high school reunion scenes. Great flick too, Ray Liotta's best performance ever (maybe not saying much).

If you dig that, and the movie, you should check out another film called "Rockers". Another cool crime/music story--although heavier on the music side. Tons and tons of cameos also. The soundtrack is, I believe, remastered and available on BMG.

I should have read your message correctly the first time. Do you mean music scores? If so, I like Neil Young's score for Jarmusch's "Dead Man".
