Everybody else voted for the Hold Steady so of course I'm in the Faint camp.

I'd say The Hold Steady and The Thermals, since I have not seen either.
I love The Faint and their shows are consistantly top notch, although I can see where many people would hate the fact their shows are a complete production in sync with a video display.

The lead singer of The Faint also married Orenda Fink of Azure Ray and took her last name.

That's kind of odd.

I thought so too. I'm not all that traditional, but I basically believe the woman should take the man's name or keep her own. I don't really get taking her name when he's been known by fans as Todd Baechle and I really hate it when people combine parts of their last names to create a shared name.

I think it's kinda fun to switch whose name they took...but I do hate the adding on of names just cause it seems like an endless cycle. Do the kids get one name then or do they get two? And what if a two-named kid marries another two named kid? Do they go to four and so on? It just seems either unworkable or just being used by the wife who still gives the children the guy's name alone and maintains the patriarchal norm in the long run.
