Is this similar to Soulseek in that I can determine what is available for public sharing? I am wary of opening my whole machine up because I harbor a good bit of work on here, plus embarassing porn.

Yes, it lets you set what folders you share. It'll even let you specify certain file extensions so only songs are shared, or whatever you choose.

I've dl'ed Waste for OSX and gone thru the setup blindly. Can anyone tell me how to determine this key business? I don't know what my shit is.

Below the key it says "Copy Public Key to the Clipboard" and it's a damn mile long, so you can't highlight it. Hit that button and then paste into your PM.

To everyone: When you add IP's to the Access Control list, make sure the "Use access control list" check box is selected. Also make sure you follow each IP with /16 as a mask so that it'll still allow people who have dynamic IP's.

Should the window say "Maintain 0 connections"?

It goes to connect and then just stops and says network down.

Don't add the /16 when connecting, just when adding the IP to the allowed list.

It only connects to whatever folder you specify. The rest of your PC is completely safe and not exposed. I'm actually connected at work right now!
