My thoughts exactly.

And it really would be cool if you could get your kids playing their instruments well enough to fill out your band. That would really make Hop on Pop unique and live up to the name! Hang in there, Todd!

That's why we aren't having any. Another dog may be in the works though, nothing has improved our lives like our mutt.

That's too bad because you and D are exactly the kind of people who should be reproducing.

Perhaps, but it isn't in the economic or emotional cards now, and by the time it is, we won't be fertile anymore.

And I'm not so secretly relieved.

does that mean they shop at Wal*Mart, love processed food, and see a lot of movies in the theater?

It means they buy gallons of milk per week, go to Target for fun, cut out coupons, head straight to the back of stores for the clearance section, scan the Sunday ads for good deals, and enjoy being around other parents with nasty kids to make them feel like better parents.

I'm just being an ass as usual, Phil. You seem perfectly qualified to raise an emotionally stable, adorable, and musically prodigious baby.

Just keep 'em away from a sax. Nobody likes a baby playing the saxophone.

Oh no offense taken, i agree that those are the kinds of assholes procreating. I'm proud to not be one of 'them'.

Why are people so obsessed with babies?

Not sure it makes a difference right now but this could be a blessing in disguise. Personally, I think your songs (at least the ones I know) work better lo fi and solo.

I'm obsessed with the right people having babies. I just think that you and D would have a kid with good values who would turn into a decent adult.

I'm all about repopulating the earth with good folks instead of asswipes.

I didn't get it either. I never wanted kids. The days my kids were born were the 2 happiest of my life... might need to have a psych degree to figure that out, but something changes in you.

I wish I knew.

A friend of mine recently set me up on a blind date with a friend of hers. Everything was going pretty well until she told me that she's 4.5 months pregnant and that the father moved away. Apparently she just really wanted a baby badly and now is looking for someone to help take care of it.

I couldn't get out of there fast enough. yikes.

Man, what's your friend's opinion of you, then? I know: let's dump my pregnant girlfriend on that milquetoast sap who's never getting any, anyway.

I'd forget about the date, and the friend.

Or, the guy figured Vanlandy'd make a good father. A compliment, perhaps.

That should be his test for future dates: "Do 2 shots, NOW, or the date's over."
