Also, the most touching commercial by FAR was the Anheuser Busch salute to the troops.

The one where a few soldiers are walking through the airport and everyone starts clapping. I thought that was awesome.
yeah, the first thing that it made me think of was that all these people's lost lives were trivialized in the pursuit of selling beer. kind of pissed me off, actually.

I kinda had this reaction to it, too. Seemed kinda cheap.

I thought the FedEx one was the funniest, along with Ameritrade.

And maaaaaaaaan.....does that new Vin Diesel flick look like the biggest turd to ever walk the Earth, or what? I mean, even in the context of Vin Diesel movies.

Yea, that was awesome. I started to tear up a bit because my little brother just got back from Iraq. Really great commercial.

hmm, i was braced for the worst when it came on, and then they flashed that logo and my fears were confirmed.

horrible insulting commercial.
should have left the logo off.

I then mentioned that I make a habit of shaking people in uniform's hands at airports, or buying them beers if they be at bars in the terminals, and some people thought that was weird. I don't, it's outta respect.

I try and do the same. They deserve it and you can tell it's much appreciated.

what're the price discrepancies? Of course bbuster is gonna raise their rates in a few months, but i'm just curious

Netflix is $18.89.

Blockbuster says it's $14.99 but I'm sure they add tax to that and it's probably just for a trial period.

Blockbuster is $16-something after tax, but you get 2 free in-store rentals every month. As much as I hate to turn my back on Netflix, they were getting slower and slower with shipments and sending badly scratched discs time and time again.

I still find it disturbing that people don't change the channel or walk away when commercials are on.

in general or just for the super bowl? because if it's the latter, you're crazy! maybe a quarter of the people at the party i went to were there just to see the commercials. in general, yeah, i always change channels during commercials.

Both...I can honestly say that the only commercials I have ever laughed at are ultra low-budget ones that air late at night or when Ricki Lake and similar shows are on. I just don't get the Super Bowl commercial hype, and this year was no exception - especially that damn Quizno's talking baby and the talking bird for Bud Light or whatever beer it was. I plan to boycott Quizno's because of their painfully unfunny ad...not that this is going to make much of an impact, but it's pretty much all I can do.
