My dad watched it with his brothers from when he was a child on. So I started watching it when I was a kid and never wound up stopping. It continually baffles friends and acquaintances because I'm an intelligent person and I don't drive a pickup truck or drink beer but so be it.

And I don't like Flair because he has four moves: the chop, the chopblock, the low blow, and the figure four. Dullsville.

All the best only have about four moves, their celebrity status is based on their persona alone.

Example:
Hulk Hogan essentially used several chops, a bunch of clotheslines, he'd psych out and hold his hand to his ear and finish his opponent with a leg drop.
Stone Cold Steve Austin would spear tackle his opponent, punch them in the face a bunch of times and use the stunner. He also tended to low blow people.
I don't think the Rock had many moves and if we go back to the days of WCW, Goldberg had like two moves.

Dude. If you're watching wrestling for the moves then I think you're missing the point.

Flair was the best huckster that business has ever seen although one could make an argument for Hogan. He cut some of the best wrestling promos of all time that grown ass men on this board STILL quote.

I'll admit that when I was a kid I was an American Dream Dusty Rhodes guy but I don't know how anyone that's NOT 10 years old can not like Flair.

That's why we idiots drive pickups, to carry around rasslers and beer.

Yeah, southern ON is just rife with rednecks and their pick-ups.

Flair sold other people's offense better than anyone. He took big limited guys like Sting and Lex Luger and made them look like stars. Find his match in 1989 with Terry Funk where he worked babyface on Youtube. Amazing work. Unfortunately, dude spent all his money and has had to work in the ring into his 60's.

I think he will come back as a manager or have some role on TV.

what can i say? i grew up watching wrestling.....flair was my fave....
it is not part of my life anymore except for random exceptions. i don't watch it on tv, and i occasionally read the dirt sheets to see what is going on...plus, i know one of the wwe guys pretty well, so i have a bit of loyalty there.....

The people taking snipes in this thread probably love Dancing with the Stars and Moonlighting.

Says the guy with a cartoon as a signature.

I'll take a Ric Flair thread over another "Bush Sucks" thread any day.

. . . i never said i was rational. i just think it's funny for men of above average intelligence to be getting all wistful over the retirement of a pro wrestler.
