Stella, Heineken, and Sam Adams should be relegated to third-tier status.

i think sam adams is a tad above these, maybe in the second tier.

also in the fourth tier is Rolling Rock.

Concur.

If Sam Adams named their beer something "Left-handed Fist in Your ASS Pale Ale" people would probably like it more.

Also. I think there speciality and seasonal brews are pretty bad but when I'm drinking several beers like I often do, I can do a lot worse than Sam Adams.

The worst beer that people actually think is good is Fat Tire. I would rather drink Busch Light. I'm serious.

There are only 2 ingredients that give beer flavor (aside from yeast variety, or wacky shit like fruit) and you don't like one of them.

I like my beer smooth...IPAs just don't go down well with me.

its why I hate almost all of the sweetwater beers.

it doesn't matter. This is the correct answer. I wish I could find Dogfish out here. Stone suffices, though.

Rolling Rock doesn't even deserve a tier.

Belgians are not especially hoppy. They are malty, and especially yeasty.

"I like my beer smooth" is code for "I don't like to taste stuff."

I'd put Rolling Rock on the "crappy Regional beer" tier. If its local, it's always okay to drink it.

Unfortunately, RR has national distribution so others have to deal with it.

I'm not among Sam Adams haters. Love it. Guinness Draught is better, but Sam's a good backup.

i mean, as far as mass produced beer goes it's pretty good. far superior to any of the american "beer as an approximation of water" beers

I don't see how the two are exclusive...there are plenty of smooth beers out there that have a great flavor...stouts and porters can be good examples of this.

I just hate the taste of pretty much all IPAs I've ever had.

I would've agreed with you before the buyout. Now it tastes like cheap soap.

The only thing that distinguishes a beer as being an IPA (and not just a light ale) is hops, and lots of them.

Thus:

You don't really like hops. See Sanka analogy.

<-- not a fan of IPA's, but loves a regular Pale Ale.

Tonight, I am having the GARfecta of beers -- I had 3 Guinness draught bottles (terrible) 1 Mich Ultra (WHY?!) and am on my first Bud Light Tall.

I am just cleaning out the fridge, in lieu of spending money, but I think I'll regret these decisions.
