Although I hate them, I'm rooting for ORU to win the Nebraska regional just to piss of Promethium. ORU has held their own against ooc "name" teams this year and they are always solid.

I wouldn't expect anything less from a person with your name. Nebraska's current coach still has to prove he can successfully coach during the post-season, despite coaching Nebraska to their first CWS win.
The Huskers were an overachieving team this year, so it wouldn't surprise me if they blew their region. Since they have only lost three times at home during this 40-14 season, I expect them to take care of business.

39-20 and didn't make the cut, what a bunch of B.S.

Dude, no offense, but it is a Bearcat Baseball team with no history of excellence an RPI of 84. They needed to win their conference to get a bid. Hell, Nebraska had an RPI of #8. Did they get a top seed, no, am I pissed, no. The Huskers should have made their conference tournament championship, but did not, so they got what they deserve.

But way to go Texas Southern...

I think Texas Southern got an automatic bid for winning their conference tournament, despite their losing record.

Here is the bracket breakdown, with teams with automatic bids having asterisks next to their name.
Texas Southern did indeed get an automatic bid for winning their conference tournament.

I need to clarify that Nebraska is a top seed when it comes to their region, but not a national top eight seed, which is what I was referencing with the RPI comment.

Yeah my interest level has spiked some after watching some of the SEC/ACC conference tourney's over the weekend. I was around an FSU grad who grew up a Ga Tech fan all weekend so some shit talking was involved.

Having UGA/GT in the same regional should make for some chippy baseball. I'm tempted to go over for a game. If I could drink behind the outfield fence like you could when I was in Athens it would be a no brainer.

The way Nebraska has been playing the past two weeks combined with the trend of Mike Anderson's teams to blow it in the post-season, I'm very concerned about this week's regional. Oral Roberts is very good this season (they blew out Arkansas both times they faced them). UC-Irvine will be a challenge as well. But like Promethium said, we've only lost 3 times at home this year, so I like our chances.

Georgia, one of the top eight national seeds, lost their first game to Lipscomb today in their regional, but at least they didn't get smoked as bad as the #5 seed Florida State.
LSU, NC State, UCLA and Nebraska were victorious, while Texas, Arkansas and Vandy were not.

Georgia was down 5-2 going into the 7th inning of the elimination game, then proceded to put up 7 runs in the top of the 7th. They now lead 9-5 in the top of the 9th.

Georgia won 9-8 to avoid going two and BBQ.
Arkansas was eliminated by Stanford, who was another top seed trying to avoid going two and BBQ.

Huskers lost 3-2 tonight to UC-Irvine
The Anteaters went to Omaha last year.
Now, Nebraska has to beat Oral Roberts and UC-Irvine twice to make it to the Supers.

LSU won by 9 tonight. they won by 11 yesterday as well. That's 22 straight to tie the SEC record for consecutive wins.

Nebraska was shutout 8-0 against Oral Roberts. They didn't have the pitching nor the bats when it counted after losing to UC-Irvine.

LSU wins making it an SEC record 23 straight wins by a comfortable 6 run margin. We'll host the super regional and hopefully do what Nebraska could not and beat UC-Irvine.

Yea, you got owned.. Not sure on the number of innings, but the bats went kaput for the Huskers for at least 16ish innings...

After ORU beat the hated Nebraska BCS team, they got destroyed by Irvine (again). Go little guys.

UGA lost their first game to fucking Lipscomb and went into the loser's bracket. They then rattled off 3 straight wins agains Louisville, Lipscomb, and Georgia Tech.

Tonight it's UGA/Tech for all the marbles (or at least advancing) as it should be.

I have faith that Tech's massive inferiority complex will cause them to "kneel before Zod" tonight.

Athens will host.

Dawgs put the smack down on Tech beating them 18-6 and beating for the 5th straight meeting in the post-season.

Although it isn't a baseball picture it's still UGA/Tech and I'll use any excuse to post it:

UGA beat Miami 7-4 with a 4 run 9th inning rally. First time in 45 games that the Canes have blown a lead after the 8th.

I don't care what happens the rest of the way. This was insanity. Another reminder of why I like sports:

UNC 8, LSU 4 :(

Verdugo had nothing and the ACC pitcher of the year pitched like it. I'm not gonna mention a certain 8th inning call. I'm not panicky, though, because LSU rakes second line pitching. Sure is tough to lose the first one and win it, though.

The CWS is definitely surprising so far... who woulda thunk Georgia & Fresno would be in the catbird's seat after the first four days?
