Anyone have the actual CD. I like this a lot, but I'm wondering if the CD would have any better sound than the MP3s floating around that pretty much sound like ass. I'd pick one up myself, but so far I've only see it available on import for pretty high prices.

I also wouldn't mind if this sounded a little better but I'm pretty sure it's supposed to sound this gritty so I doubt the CD will be much better.

Just keep it simple and don't crank the meters all over the place so it comes out like a big distorted mess.

Um...I think that's the point.

I'm sure it is. I just disagree with that method. There are plenty of great, raw sounding recording full of piss and vinegar that don't get there by just over saturating everything to that point.

So I've spun this a few times and it isn't really clicking with me.

I don't quite get it either. It reminds of The White Stripes or something - I SHOULD like it, but whatever's supposed to be there ain't there to me.

Yeah, I don't know what it is that Dump and Loog aren't hearing here.

This guy has the best rock yelp I've heard in years. Reminds me of Little Richard in his prime.

I've never figured out how two of the guys that totally flipped out over the Gaslight Anthem could possibly believe there was something missing in the Jim Jones Revue.

But maybe that explains it.

I guess I should qualify my statement a bit and say that it's not that I think Little Richard is shitty or anything, but if I went the rest of my life never hearing a single note of his songs or artists that sound like him or even slightly remind me of him, I'd totally be okay with it.

Draw a straight line through those 3 points and you hit Collective Soul, Black Oak Arkansas, and Meat Loaf. Mystery solved.
