The referees in that game last night should have all been wearing green. A bunch of fucking bullshit.

I haven't paid that much attention to a November NBA game in years.

Hawks didn't even have Josh Smith for the game. Our bench is so much better this year already. I certainly don't feel too bad today about that loss.

While we're on the subject, how's about talking to your chick about getting these games on in HD: I've almost texted her twice in the past week while watching the Hawks in standard def.

most of our games are on Comcast Sports Net and only half (at best) are on HD and the non-HD games are almost unwatchable.

I, for one, love that Derris is a Hawks fan. Not in a way that puts down said franchise, but because I like to see they're getting support.

 I asked her about it and got something about contracts, money, affiliates, etc. I know they are doing 25 of the 75 games in HD which is more than they did last year. I have no idea what the rhyme or reason is with regards to which games get it but if the game is on, check 848 (if you get Comcast) and see if it's on in HD.

I know they have increased their HD games across the board in every sport every year.

What can I say? When I was growing up we were the shit with those 80's teams that had Dominique, Spud Webb, Tree Rollins, Doc Rivers, and a young Kevin Willis. Unfortunately they played at a time when the East was the toughest it has been in the history of the league. I'm by no means a superfan but I certainly follow the team. All the Atlanta teams for that matter.

Atlanta is a huge NBA town but our product has been a fucking abomination for a decade now. The ratings prove it. Every year during the playoffs the highest viewership outside of the the cities that are actually playing in the game comes from Atlanta. I mean come on, BLACK HOLLYWOOD! If we can put out a consistently competitive team you'll see stars in the seats every night. 2nd only to LA probably. Maybe NYC but the Knicks are worse off than we were still.

It's been a long time coming and hopefully this start of the season isn't just an aberration because usually in the NBA it's how you finish, not how you start.

As long as Al Horford's in a Hawks jersey, they're gonna be alright.

I'm sure that I've said it before, but I was a HUGE fan of those Hawks teams (thanks TBS) and still use Koncack as a euphemism for something worthless.

With the amount of Jon Koncak player cards I flushed down the toilet as a lad, I'm sure there's some kind of sub-sewer dwelling mutants who revere him as a basketball god.

This Pistons team is really starting to come together nicely. Once they get McDyess back they're gonna be the second best team in the East again.

They're picking apart the Lakers in LA at the moment. Tayshaun Prince is really starting to become a star.

As for Boston, they're not going to repeat unless they add some talent midseason. PJ Brown and Posey have been predictably HUGE losses.

yeah, the starting 5 are fine and house, powe, tony allen and big baby will be good but beyond that it's kind of worrisome.

Oh come on..he's a very good defensive player and has a well-rounded game but he's the fourth best player on that pistons team. I don't think you're gonna start seeing the Tayshaun Prince Jerseys selling out anytime soon.

he didn't say superstar.

and I think after Prince's performance in the finals a few years back, it's safe to say that even casual NBA fans know who he is and respect dude's talent. I think that he's on a stacked team and still stands out only enhances his reputation.

No but you probably should. I've got him as that team's MVP as much as I love rasheed. Tay does what's necessary to win games.

So what about me? You're disappointed that I'm a Hawks fan?

Hey, I'm happy that anyone's a Hawks fan after the Shareef Abdur Rahim years. I guess Derris just seems a lot more vocal about it. Either way, I'm glad the team seems to be turning around, it's a great franchise and like any classic eastern conference team, I'll root for 'em when they're not playing my boys.

both sides have handled things as poorly as could be possibly imagined, but Marbury deserves ZERO sympathy....nor does the team that signs him next...cause he will eventually burn all bridges & good will there too ...

oh i agree but if someone tells you that you're not in their plans and lists you as inactive for most of the season and then gets pissed off when you refuse to play, that's kinda silly.
