it blows my mind that juno won an academy award for writing. i don't believe hollywood really believes kids talk like that.

& it beat out Lars & the Real Girl, as well. So it was not as if Juno won by default.

What I don't understand, though, is if Juno -- first-time script from an "outsider" (stripper/phone-sex operator, turned author, turned screenwriter) -- can get an Academy nom, why didn't Gran Torino? I mean, the writer of that is from Minnesota, too; plus, he looks like the love-child of Diablo Cody & Joe the Plumber.

what the fucking hell is all of this snow about? it won't stop fucking snowing.

i walked these dogs i'm watching this week around 4 pm today. then i drove to my side of town, went to the store, and when i walked out it was snowing.

i went to blockbuster, and i saw it was sticking to the ground. then i had a friend come over and there was already about 3 inches on the ground.

i have to somehow make it over to the same house tomorrow (on the other side of town) because i can't fucking let these dogs go crazy inside this house.. also, they'll run out of food and water. this is so fucked. i don't have 4 wheel drive.. the owners are in florida.

fuck me.

also, i'm going to lose work hours tomorrow because the kids i nanny won't have school, and their dad won't make it to work because i'm sure it's snowing a fuckton more in charlottesville

fuck fuck fuck

have you guys seen nick & norahs infinite playlist? that movie was terrible.

juno was great in comparison. but still, they're both teen hipster movies.

Gran Torino was TERRIBLE... they made Clint Eastwood look like Walter Matthau in Grumpy Old Men... there wasn't a single thing I enjoyed about that movie

you don't get past that, it's pretty much the whole movie.
the last few scenes with adult actors mildly saves things, but not really.

i know people in their 30s who are trying really hard to drop juno-speak into their vernacular. it's usually the trader joes-iphone-tapas dinner party-going to coachella-for-the-first-time set, proving they still have their finger on the pulse

Even better is:

"Once I did a boom gnarly stunt trick on it and a girl got pregnant just by watching my extremeness to the maxxxx"

I wish I could do something to the maxxxx. Or, at the very least, inseminate via the power of stunt tricks...

its been a while since i've taken prescription migraine meds, and for about 5 minutes after your migraine is gone, there is a crazy "come up" feeling like you've taken acid or something. something just doesn't sit right in your stomach, your throat, your chest, and your head. it's an overwhelming feeling of anxiety and it feels terrible.

but about 10 minutes after i took it my migraine went away. too bad the prescription only came with 10 pills and i just ran out of health insurance.

Judging by the ladies, I would think the dogs would have more to worry about.

I enjoyed that movie a lot. Not from "Wow that really moved me" thing but...shit I just thought it was funny as hell. Guy just reminded me of my Dad. Or what I think of my Dad I guess.
