Of course on the flip side, they might be accused of being retro-poseurs if they didn't have a slightly modern sound.

There's only so many ways to skin a cat.

Yeah, let's defer to Mick with his incredible insight and taste.

Sorry mate, but when you're defending dumb, sensitive, emo garbage, saying something like this on top of it makes you look kinda silly.

I can't believe you, Bloor and GAR especially are listening to this shit. In a year's time you're going to be laughing at yourselves.

I don't even really know what emo is, other than you seem really hung up on it as a negative. It just sounds like regular rock and roll.

I can't speak for the others, but if I like an album, I'll probably always like it. This point has been argued before on the board (I think it was in some 80s metal thread circa 2006) that one's taste should change over time, and it may be a sign of immaturity or just plain ol' shitty taste if it doesn't.

I'm not sure why it should concern you what I do or don't like but I appreciate the concern: I"ll sleep better tonight on my fluffy bed of bad taste.

Just saying. It seems pretty incongruous with what you normally seem to listen to, and normally deride for that matter.

This past weekend, Bruuuuuce sat in with them during "'59 Sound" at Glastonbury and Hard Rock Calling in Hyde Park. Then Bryan (GS singer) sat in with Bruce & the E Street Band for "No Surrender"

I like this a good bit. The lead guitar player gets on my nerves a little when he over uses the octive lead on too much stuff.

is this a pedal thing, or a music theory thing?

Sometimes I find it irritating that people apply the "emo" label too recklessly these days. Before "emo", some young bands and songwriters simply played sad songs, or dark songs. Now some douchebag with an axe to grind can easily sabotage the potential for someone to check out an artist because they inappropriately used the "e word". And all probably because their musical palette is very narrow and they just don't know any better.
