Well, if everyone in already in the thread kinda likes the album, the only way to be the cool outsider who's above it all is to not like it.

It's simple, really.

I'm not a huge fan, but I think March 16-20, 1992 is pretty great.

If you're asking "is it one the Summerteeth end of the scale, or more on the Sky Blue Sky end?" the answer is closer to Summerteeth, but not as poppy. Actual song formats, beginnings and endings, about 50% major keys vs. minor... A more focused Yankee Hotel Foxtrot maybe.

Worth a listen.

I still only like YHF pretty much. I'll give it a try. the one with the egg on the cover bored me to death.

A Ghost Is Born (egg cover) had moments, but I almost never listen to it. zzzzzzzz

I'll follow this thread until someone semi reliable calls the album Meh and then assume they're right and stop paying attention.

Thanks, Dalen!

Would have liked it if Nels really freaked out at the end of One Wing. Kinda like this, with Watt:

Sounds good on first run-through. Bull Black Nova and You Never Know immediately stand out.

Had a nice first listen as background music. Nothing struck me as embarrassing (like "Shake It Off) or particularly arduous. Space boogie for adults.

I'm tempted to make a snide comment back but I won't.

All I meant is normally I just ignore bands and threads about bands that I don't really like. I constantly find myself wanting to like Wilco though. I bought SBS against my better judgement and initially thought it was pleasant enough. It had no staying power though. I really haven't liked anything they've done since "Being There" but I find it hard to ignore them nonetheless. I'd like to just ignore this thread but I'm still curious. All it will probably take though is one "meh" from someone with somewhat similar taste though to sap my interest.
