that's the reason it's a better album el doucho.

Explain.

better overall package for me. production, songs, playing, influence, artwork...everything.

I was just trying to parse your response and I'm still coming up short. He said "I vote for what I like" and you said "that's the reason it's a better album". Is it you simply stating that because you (Dalen) have noted for what you like (OKC), that it (OKC) is a better album?

is "indie cred" a sniglet for the crust around your eye when you wake up in the morning?

uh, at this point, choosing OR against OKC would be the more obnoxious hipster thing to do to gain more hipster cred, so....

"dude, screw radiohead maaaan, Echo are like so great."

This is bullshit D. How can stating a preference be wrong or even the hipster thing to do?

I voted for Echo. I loved OK Computer for a period and still think that, yes, it in fact had a big role in shaping rock music for a time. That said, I could go 10 years without hearing it again. "No Surprises" makes me cringe at this point. I just don't feel the same about it anymore.

Whereas I was a relative late comer to Echo and I still listen to Ocean Rain every now and then and dig it.

I'll take your word for it. I don't really concern myself with the hipster mentality. I'm just defending my choice to pick the album I enjoy listening to, without having to consider what others think. I'm sure you'll be happy to see Radiohead win this in a landslide. Won't bother me in the least.

I certainly can remember when OKC came out how critics loved it and all proclaimed it revolutionary. Its tempting for that reason to without thinking about it accept the idea that it was influential. Now obviously, I'm biased because I don't like it but who or what has it influenced? I really couldn't answer that.

These are some of the best...

Carperpetuation: The act, when vacuuming, of running over a piece of string at least a dozen times, then picking it up, examining it, and putting it back on the carpet to give the vacuum cleaner one last chance.

Esso-asso: Someone who drives through a corner gas station to avoid stopping at a red light. (Esso is now called Exxon in the United States.)

Futility Infielder: Ballplayer who throws his glove at the ball as it goes past him.

Krashtonite: The mysterious indestructible substance the "black box" is made of and why isn't the rest of the airplane made of it?

Snackmosphere: The air inside a bag of potato chips.

Timefoolery: Setting the alarm clock ahead of the real time in order to fool yourself into thinking you are not getting up so early.

Barbage: The left over shaving cream in your hand.

well, I like Ocean Rain and Echo, but OKC was HUGE for me when I was growing up...bought the tab book and used to play along with the album several times a day to practice. I don't cum everytime I hear it anymore, but when I do I'm reminded of why I liked it so much.
