Well, some good news!!! The pain I'm having now doesn't seem to be related to a herniated disc in my neck, which means my neck discs are still hanging in there and not degenerating too bad... :wink:

The problem is that the nerve pain I'm having is bad enough that I need an epidural steroid injection. I guess that's better than staying high on Vicodin for months. Hopefully, it helps with the pain and the nerve irritation heals on its own over time.

Last resort would be a surgery, but at least it wouldn't be another disc removal w/ fusion. My spine will stay the same structurally for now!!!

I was offered an epidural steroid injection a couple years ago, but I didn't go thru with it. (I didn't want to pay.) I ended up just taking a bunch of ibuprofen, and the pain went away.

Epidural steroid shot did the job, despite the fact that the pain management physician and my neurosurgeon let me know that I also have two discs bulging in my thoracic spine (yipee!!!)

Keeping up with the diet & exercise program as well... I am down 36 pounds in just under 4 months since I took it up a notch.

Fat boy getting smaller, hell yeah!
