45% of top twenty.
39% of top hundred...

...from the oldest Obner who was conscious and buying music in these years.

I just went back to my most-recent Listmania!® and counted. Wasn't really that hard.

It just seems more like purposeful ignorance if you couldn't name any. This is a fucking music board after all.

I don't really keep track of lists like that, but I feel confident saying not a ton of my favorites come from that period. When I think of classic kinda stuff I generally go more in the Chuck Berry, Elvis, Bo Diddley and that kinda stuff direction. I like a liot of Punk stuff that does fall in the later part of that era too...but have just as many favorites from the tail end of the 70s and early 80s as far as that goes. The late 60s, early 70s hippie period just never really appealed to me much.

Sure, there are some things I like from then, but never really gotten into that particular era so much. Beatles? very little interest to me. Stones? I like a couple albums and some scattered songs a bunch but never really huge on 'em, Dylan is probably my favorite of the classic era artists that get splattered all over every list. And then you've got the Velvet Underground and a few others like the Stooges. And a lot of that stuff, T Rex, Dolls...I like and listen to pretty regularly but I don't personally value it over stuff that came a few years later.
