I actually looked into going to the game but flights were ridiculously expensive for that weekend. Upwards of $600 just to fly Delta into OK City. No rooms were available within 30 miles of Stillwater and when the ticket form came the OSU away tickets were $100 each for face value.

I think flying into Wichita and driving down with our Air Force pal would be the way to go.

I'm going with my usual stance regarding this upcoming season: cautious optimism.

And where the hell is Michigan State in the Obner roundup? Since I've largely divorced myself from the NFL, the alma mater is all I have now. Thankfully, Dantonio seems to have a good, solid handle on things after much of the last decade was spent in a full-on tailspin.

I hope Georgia kicks the shit out of Oklahoma State... The reason you can't get a decent priced ticket is that you can't buy a ticket to the game if you live in Oklahoma unless you buy season tickets. Seriously. They had the same policy last year when they hosted OU.... Either buy season tickets or you won't be able to attend the game because single game tickets won't be available for the best game of the year they host.

OSU charges the highest student fees for football and basketball tickets (you can opt out, but they do screw over the student population) in the nation.

All brought to you by Mike Holder and T.Boone Pickens who some people think will contribute to solving energy issues. Yea, good luck with that. He's all about money... and a d-bag at that.

No. 31 Michigan State

In the past, I knew we had a Spartan fan or two during past NCAA Basketball tournaments, but I wasn't sure if they were still active posters.

Yeah - they should totally have demonstrated the 'hands fee' aspect of the snuggie by having him pinkie blast those two chicks.

No disrespect to my colleagues from Georgia.

After the dogpiling you've taken from them the last few days?

I don't take offense to it. I usually chalk it up to the fact that I won't make a big stink of it and I'm somewhat high profile on the board. Plus, Derris was the only person from the Georgia crew hammering me on the album poll.
Loogar didn't jump in until I attacked the Dawgs.

Has there been a dogpiling? I thought I just called out Prometh simply because I've disagreed with him on most of these polls, which always piques my interest when someone doesn't jive with my (read:correct) opinion

Also, I'd expect Prometh to fire back in turn if we attacked the Huskers.

I FUCKING KNEW IT. I knew there would be licensed team snuggies. Goddam that's depressing.

Sadly, every bit of this is true.
As far as the actual game,I'm torn. An OSU win is good for the Big 12. Zach Robinson may only be the 3rd best QB in the Big 12,but he's one of the 10 best QBs in the country.OSU will get their points. Everything depends on what improvement their defense makes.

I can't really complain about the season ticket rule, since nearly every team Nebraska faces does the same thing to prevent Husker fans from gobbling up tickets. Iowa State and Kansas quickly grew tired of seeing Husker fans filling up their stadiums for rare televised games.

Notre Dame FAIL

(In reference to Nebraska's win in South Bend, during the Eric Crouch years (I believe), when 2/3 of Notre Dame Stadium was 'Husker Red.)

It was indeed during the Crouch years. Nebraska led late in the game at South Bend, only to see the Irish tie it with special teams returns. Nebraska won the game in OT on a Crouch Option keeper.
I attended the game the following year in Lincoln, where Nebraska initially set the record for ESPN College Gameday attendance. I got real drunk,Nebraska took a first half lead and didn't have to do much the 2nd half due to the inept Irish Offense.

That was also the same year, Nebraska beat OU with a trick play, and then went on to get pummeled by Colorado and Miami to end the year. It was the beginning of the end.

It's a stretch back in time, but Gerry Faust LOL is still the all-time greatest ND taunt.

Every ND coach pretty much since Dan Devine is LOL. Holtz had some success, but he's still LOL-worthy for his spit talk.

I have no problem with that assesment and this ranking. Pretty much right on but I don't think they're giving enough emphasis on have much injuries affected us last year.

Our O-Line and D-Lines are going to be sick this year and as Bama and LSU can attest, having those things solid will take you a long way in college football. We still need an outside pass rush though.

My two biggest questions for UGA is our secondary and our running game. If our young RB's can do some damage inside our hog mollies then that should open up some single coverage on AJ Green and if that happens look out.

I think a win at OK St. would propel us in the Top 10 and I think I read that early Vegas lines have us the favorite in every game except Florida. Doesn't matter though. We're still going to take everyone's best shot.

I read or listened to something about how the aggregate # of starts by the O-Line is the number 1 indicator of if a team will live up to the hype....and whereas Utah and OU had over 80, UGA had like 25 last year....

My numbers may be of but it was pretty compelling. (This is when you wish that Simmons was as in to College Football as the fucking FAIL Basketgar Association)

I don't see Georgia being a pretty team to watch, but if the offensive line is truly one of the best in the nation, the run game should be there. The young quarterbacks will just have to avoid making big mistakes and controlling the clock.
I don't follow the Dawgs closely enough to know if you lost enough people to earn a B- ranking on defense, but according to this piece Georgia hasn't been ranked lower than #22 in D since 2002. That's pretty impressive and would lead me to believe they should continue it through this season.

2-4 losses is about all you can find in the schedule (OK State, LSU, Florida and G Tech) if the Dawgs aren't in significant decline, and two of those are rivalry games.

BTW, G Tech is ranked #14 today

FYI - we ain't losin to no fucking GA Tech unless its an 8-5, 7-6 type season.

And Cox isn't young - last time we had an 'inexperienced' senior as the starter, we won a little thing called the SEC.

I am caught up in the beginning of the season hype, but I think we will shock the fuck out of some people.
