No kidding.
I was expecting Radiohead to be killing this one.

As it turns out, Funeral actually is the instant classic that is still remembered five years down the road.

I only care that it beat In Rainbows right now (and the more handily, the better), not that it be lofted into the Cannon.

Also, I think most people either A) have Radiohead fatigue for that album or B) it's simply not that good.

For me it's B.

Neon Bible (and several also-ran bands) sort of killed Arcade Fire for me, although I do still like Funeral. Just haven't had a desire to hear it in a while.

I agree with this. I'll also add that the lead singer of AF seems like a genuine douche.

Arcade Fire.

The intensity of Monty's dislike for this band is making me think that perhaps they really are the greatest of the decade.

In Rainbows is the best album released in the past 5 years guys. It's very close to being flawless.

Does anyone want to take it upon themselves to search back 5 years when Dale said this about Funeral?

Also, Radiohead is his alter-ego Nick's favorite band. It's a battle of self-loathing.

I've never been a huge fan of Funeral actually. Dig it, but don't play it often.
