Exactly what I picture when I hear their music.

Arcade Fire

What does that even mean? His looks turn you off of the music?

As opposed to this group of rockers:

I saw their performance on Austin City Limits and was completely blown away. They leapt to the top of my "must see" list.
You know... the one that I'll most likely never check anybody off of.

Still... that performance, alone brought me a whole new level of respect for them.

(Yeah, the keyboard player is annoying, but this isn't even close to the best performance of the night and it's still pretty awe-inspiring, IMO.)

I gotta be honest, I'd reach for Funeral on the average day before At Dawn.

I stand with The Machine.

At Dawn is my favorite MMJ, and MMJ used to be one of favorite bands (Evil Urges was garbage).... but I go AF on this. Funeral has brilliant, brilliant lyrics. Never, ever, ever read MMJ's lyrics... best left in some fuzzy, reverb neverland. MMJ looks to a glorious past (the Southern rural way) and AF hungers for the present.

I honestly think a lot of people simply haven't heard At Dawn.

I think this is driving most of the results, actually (well not At Dawn specifically, of course). The album that has been heard by more board members usually wins, especially in the early rounds. It explains Sea Change's inexplicable success. The average voter was more likely to vote for an "okay" Beck album than something they hadn't heard.
