I just donated to their pledge drive. It's probably the most diverse radiostation I've ever heard-great programming. I think I like it better than kexp.

The site is blocked from my work computer. I can't listen and they don't post a playlist. Maybe the station is awesome but i'll never know.

And, if I turned on a radio station to hear 3 Pixies songs in a row, I'd call "DJ Apathy", no matter what the promotion tactic/intent was...

I like the fact that they can do that. I don't find it apathetic at all.

Does KXLU broadcast on the internet?

when it works, you can get to it through www.kxlu.com

Hope you get/enjoy...

Blocked as well.

That's a shame.

They don't get nearly the same funding kexp receives so their website isn't exactly state-of-the-art.They have playlists, but they're program oriented (aka some programs have them some don't) and they post them a week later. Their last pledge drive pulled in $40,000. They broadcast at 100 watts. It's grassroots if their ever was grassroots and they just played susie and the banshees, the books, andrew bird, and the churchhills. Rawk.

and I look forward to that mixtape. I l was listening to NPR the other day and they were talking about 'Northern Soul' and played a couple tunes. I don't know what they were, but it was good. Is the movie 'the commitments' loosely based on northern soul?

I've totally gotta give KEXP props. My girlfriend who recently signed us up as 500 club members wrote John Richards to say thanks for hooking me up with Math and Physics Club. He invited us in to the studio to sit in for Math and Physics Club in-studio. That's just cool. It was a good time.
