I would love to also. But, it's really hard to get away with a wife and 2 small kids. But, actually, that is the weekend the wife and kids are leaving for my wife's mom's to spend the entire spring break week at her house. I'll see if there's any possible way I could make this happen. But with a possible job change happening also, I don't even know where I'm going to be living at that time yet.

FT/Chuck, I would LOVE to get in on this, I think it would be OPEN QUAL but I just can't swing it. I checked flights on Expedia and others and the cheapest flight from ATL to Austin round trip is $700 right now. That plus show tix, food, booze, cabs = Not plausible.

Compound that with the fact that I've been saving for a trip to Europe for over a year now.

My most humble apology for not being able to make it.

This sucks. Day ruined.

Awww man, i would if I could. I miss SXSW a whole heck of a lot. Its been four years since i was there last. y'all have a good time, and if you are looking for good, fun entertainment free while you are there, go to the Bloodshot BBQ at the Yard Dog Art Gallery.

Most of the label's bands in town get up and do a drunken set, they'll have pretty cheep keg beer and burgers til they run out, and it has always been one of the funnest events going in Austin.

The Shambolic Trumpets would love to attend. Unfortunately the SXSW falls right on our Jobseekers Alllowance signing-on day.

BBC Scotland are actually are actually broadcasting alot of the SXSW (I imagine there will be loads of Scottish bands playing as usual) so I'll be listening out for at least one shout of "Oooooobner!!!!!!" from the crowd.

I might be able to make it. My plans for that week are still up in the air. I want to try to go to at least one day of SXSW, though, so I'll try and make it Friday. It seems like a pretty good day to go anyway, what with Pelican and Isis on the same bill. As well as Spoon, Malkmus, Pedro the Lion, and the New York Dolls to choose from.

Anyway, you sure you want to let in us "street teamers"

We DEFINITELY want you to make it, Mike!!! And did you say SPOON is playing on 3/18?!?!? We may need to turn Casa de Peden into a pre-show party! Where are they playing and at what time do they go onstage?
