Randall was blessed with two HOF wide receivers in their prime, I don't see that happening in Washington. Hopefully.

And Tanner, I think you are being a little hard on McNabb (And why wouldn't you? You've got a Lombardi trophy in your town, just fucking kill everybody from now on): Dude has been the most consistent. QB in the NFC over the past decade. Has he come up short in some big spots? Sure. But he's gotten them into a lot of big spots as well.
.

I must admit the trophy does make it a lot easier to throw stones.

He has been consistent, I agree. And it's probably a little unfair to suggest that they haven't won a Superbowl because of him. I mean Freddie Mitchell was a starting WR for them at one point.

But I think his skill set is such that if he can't run,I don't think he's good enough with his arm. I think McNabb was the best running qb in the league. He used his feet to set-up the pass, but he was pass first. As opposed to Vick who was basically a running back. When Donovan took off he was still looking to throw. He doesn't move as well anymore, and I think this will only highlight that he has questionable accuracy. I think he'll still be effective, but he is playing for the Redskins in a tough division. Not sure he can be effective enough at this age on this team.

That's all the Eagles had the last few years...McNabb's arm. They threw on almost every down and made it pretty far on that alone.

Reading Comp Fail. I'm not saying he needs a running game. I'm saying that his footwork is the key to him throwing the football. See also Ben Rothlisberger.

His last three seasons have been the 2nd, 3rd and 4th most accurate of his career (his most accurate was, not surprisingly, 2004 when he was A. healthy and B. had TO to throw to) in terms of completion percentage. And while you may very well be right about McNabb, who's not to say he might be capable of putting up a season like Randall Cunningham did in Minnesota when people had written him off because he was no longer mobile.

And what's a football argument without a cliche? The quarterback position in the National Football League is played more between the ears than with the legs or arm and the dude has been around a long time.

You're missing my point too. I'm not saying he's a black running qb who makes plays with his feet. He's always been throw first. I said that several posts ago. The most comparable player to McNabb is Rothlisberger who extends plays in the pocket with his feet. But what's an internet argument without jumping to conclusions?

Accuracy is more than completion percentage. You have to watch the games to see that. I'm also not saying he's washed up either. I just don't think there's enough ability there at this age to turn one of the worst franchises in football into a world beater in a competitive division.

Who says he's reviled? The fact that its time to move on doesn't mean, he's not still a Philly sports hero.

This is a pragmatic move. They aren't likely a superbowl contender this year with or without him. His contract is up next year. Why not get some draft picks for him rather than let him walk next year and get nothing? Plus it gives them a greater look at Kolb before they have to decide whether to commit more money and years to him next year.

Jaws was boo'ed too, and everyone was more than ready for Randall before he proved himself to be a worthy replacement.

the better question is why is Buddy Ryan more loved than Andy Reid?

I personally always felt a little ashamed rooting for Buddy Ryan.

it's arguable that Buddy's teams were much better than Andy's teams, what with the NFC East being incredibly dominate during Buddy's years, and the NFC East being mediocre through most of Andy's. And Buddy's defenses were incredible, he just didn't give a fuck about offense.

That Reggie White wasn't too shabby at sacking and such.

Was it just me or did McNabb look like Warren Moon at the press conference today?

Maybe not reviled but certainly not embrace the way a player with his accomplishments should be. So he didn't win a title. Jim Kelly and Fran Tarkenton didn't either and they're both in the hall of fame and beloved by their cities.

I get the pragmatic move but is there anything more unpredictable than pro football QB performance? I don't care bow much more Philly management knows than me about Kolb, it's still a gamble over a proven QB.

Also, one of the 2 games Kolb started where he threw for over 300 yards, that jewelz cited.......................Philly lost by 26.

Nothing in this league is guaranteed or promised.

Haha. WTF do I know though, Kolb could be your QB for the next 10 years.

I guess I'm just fucking appalled at his treatment when if Atlanta had had anything resembling the kind of success he's had he'd be a gotdamn folk hero down here.

On the other hand I think Chris Chandler's a chump and he took us to the Super Bowl.

...or, he could pull a Cunningham when he played for the Ravens.

In the back to back embarrassments against the Cowboys, the Eagles collectively ran the ball 20 times.

I would have much rather have kept McNabb and gotten rid of Andy.
