Ritchie Blackmore gave Lita Ford a guitar pick which she then used and carried between her cheek and gum for an entire 30 day tour.

Elvis Costello's success in the US was severely bruised in 1979 when, during a drunken argument with Stephen Stills and Bonnie Bramlett in a Columbus, Ohio Holiday Inn hotel bar, Costello referred to James Brown as a "jive-ass nigger", then upped the ante by pronouncing Ray Charles a "blind, ignorant nigger."

In 1994, NWA rapper Ice Cube bashfully admitted that he had been unaware of the meaning of the word “nigga” when he was in the group. “I just thought it was a funny word,” he told Esquire magazine. “I thought Eazy made it up.”

Guitarist for the sex pistols Steve Jones used to masturbate into sandwichs and give it to Glenn Matlock who said he liked how soft the bread was.

I had totally forgotten that. Damn. She loses points, though, for not actually using any pedal or knee levers... that was lap steel playing.

i recall something about this. now i'm trying to remember where i could've heard such a thing.

i'll add to this thread that mama cass and keith moon both died in harry nilsson's apartment, which was then sold to pete townshend. but maybe that's common knowledge.

On the Elvis tip, his backing band on My Aim Is True was Clover...which later became Huey Lewis and the News.

Buddy Guy was staying at the hotel in Athens that Busty worked at back in college, and when he got back from the show he couldn't find his room key card. When Busty explained he could issue all new ones, and that it would wipe out the old ones, Buddy tore him a new one. Guess he was expecting company?

That got straightened out real quick when he recorded King of America with some of Memphis' best studio musicians. He's truly sorry for what he said.

Johnny Cash has done songs from both Elvis Costello ("Hidden Shame") and Nick Lowe ("The Beast in Me"). Because Nick Lowe was married to Carlene Carter, he's related to Johnny Cash by marriage.

The last time Elvis Presley fired a gun into a TV set was in 1974 in the penthouse suite of the Ramada Inn in Ashville, NC. The target was Robert Goulet.

I know this because Phil knows this.

charlie parker died at the age of 34 but had so ravaged himself with smack and booze that the coroner said he had the body of a 55-60yr old man

Tulsa's Cain's Ballroom ("The home of Bob Wills") was a stop on the ill-fated 1978 US tour of 7 cities by the Sex Pistols and the last of the 7 still in existence. There's a framed hole where Syd Viscious put his fist through the wall in what is now an office that previously was a dressing room.

I think you're mostly right, but she's on the c6 neck switching between a major 7th and a minor 7th chord, and the only way i know to get either of those is with some pedals or knee levers. I upgraded to a universal E9/B6, and i have to use RKR to get the major 7th, and RKR plus pedals 6 and 7 to get the minor 7th, or something like that. But that looks like a standard 8x4 Shobud from the 70s, so I'm guessing she's just that quick with her palm and pick blocking that you don't hear the pedals or knee levers.

I didn't see any bobbe seymour style bar slants to get the 7th chords.

Hahaha. I remember that tune.

Was that song related to the movie Convoy with Kris Kristoffersen? I saw that when I was a kid.
