The Descent is really good. It's also got some really claustrophobic caving scenes that would be scary even without monsters.

Shock Waves was a lot of fun. I like that Peter Cushing was shipwrecked for like 35 years, but just knew that neckerchiefs had gained popularity in his absence. Also, nobody in that movie could plan for shit.

This week so far:

Nosferatu - really good for a 1922 silent film and followed the Dracula book pretty closely (and thus the reason there was a lawsuit)

28 Days Later - finally saw this and was very impressed. I'm not much into the jump-out-at-you scary movies, and while this had a couple moments like that, it was infrequent enough that it didn't make me lose my interest.

Tonight (hopefully): Night of the Living Dead (original)

Watched My Bloody Valentine (original) last night.

Going to some big party where they're playing movies tonight, then probably something else when I get back.

Humongous. I think I last saw it way back in the 80's on HBO. It's gotta be the most poorly lit movie I've ever seen and you barely ever see the monster-dude. If you want a deformed freak movie, go with The Funhouse or Hell Night.
