you're all crazy on the spoon album...they're still the best.

High Violet was good at first but fell off pretty quickly. That Midlake record is simply terrible. I didn't give the new Wolf Parade enough of a chance but I normally LOVE them. There's a lot of stuff I didn't even bother with...Blitzen Trapper, Sufjan, Thermals...

The new Gucci mane cd. I loved the State Vrs. Radric Davis as well as all of his mixtapes this year but the appeal is just mediocre.

Holy shit the "new" Superchunk album sounds like every circa 2000 2 AM shift in the college radio station that would never end.

What the hell is Wheatus up to?

I like Heaven is Whenever about 100x more than Stay Positive, it's definitely a reasonable Top 10 for me. 'The Weekenders' is up there with my favourite songs of 2010 too. The Big To Do is decent but overall it's not going to be an album I grab for when I want a DBT fix.

I think I'm definitely a fan of latter-day Spoon. They got the Prophet thing going for me.

At this point I'd say that's less of a disappointment and more of an expectation.

 Yeah...

I just thought with the reunion, etc. that there might be more action this year.

Patrick is right, the new New Pornos is way better than the last one.

Belle & Sebastian - Write About Love

Still rate Transference as one of the best albums I've heard out of 50 - 60.

I didn't like 'Write About Love' much when I first heard it but the more I listened to it the more I grew to like it. It's not as good as the last one but it's their most 'grown up' work to date, rather than mining the teenage angst seam once more there is actually some real adult emotion, some real mature reflection on it and because that I find it actually quite affecting in places. When Belle & Sebastian are 're-evaluated' in 10 years after they split up that substance will see this album will be rated higher than some of the earlier works.

I haven't listened to much new music this year, so there hasn't been much room for me to be disappointed. But that Midlake album is definitely one I never care to listen to again. Don't know what happened--maybe they stopped taking drugs.

Biggest one for me is Les Savy Fav.
Hold Steady and DBTs weren't as immediate as their '08 releases. Extra time with the Truckers paid off. HS not so much.

Really enjoying National, Arcade Fire, Spoon, and quite a bit of the Gaslight Anthem.

The only two I've bought that were real let downs were Midlake and Gaslight Anthem.

That Midlake albums is the first I've ever considered deleting from my collection. Totally unbearable.
