I forgot about that Paul Weller... I got and listened to it and admired it and didn't listen again. It was "noisy" and I've liked the more "classic Brit rock" Weller more than the punk-Weller in recent decades. I need to listen to it again.

I thought it was a good year for music, but this list seems really boring.

Confirm this.

I have come around on that Arcade Fire record though--not AOTY or anything but its a good solid listen if you're in the mood.

what i've heard:

Quote:
50. Steve Mason - Boys Outside - good album, glad to see it getting some recognition on lists i've seen so far.
49. Deerhunter - Halcyon Digest - i've never been an uber-fan, but this is pretty good. i like microcastle much more.
41. Belle And Sebastian - Write About Love - most disappointing album of 2010.
33. Tricky - Mixed Race - hasn't really made much of an impression on the few listens i've given it.
31. The Chemical Brothers - Further - really surprised by how excellent this is acutally
29. Interpol - Interpol - selling off their previous albums and moving on as if i was never a fan.
25. Kings Of Leon - Come Around Sundown - see Interpol.
23. LCD Soundsystem - This Is Happening - good album. outside chance at my top 20.
19. Grinderman - Grinderman 2 - i don't know if people are sleeping on this thing or it's just not obner's taste, but this is a phenomenal album. most likely my number 1.
18. Manic Street Preachers - Postcards From A Young Man - back to radio-friendly, anthemic Manics here. it's ok.
15. Yeasayer - Odd Blood - see Interpol
14. Hot Chip - One Life Stand - my least favorite hot chip, but still pretty good
12. Gil Scott-Heron - I'm New Here - good "comeback" album. looking forward to The XX remix album of this
11. The Black Keys - Brothers - solid. top 10 for sure
10. MGMT - Congratulations - see interpol
8. The National - High Violet - most likely top 20. it has grown with repeated listens, but i still feel like they are starting to tread water.
7. Gorillaz - Plastic Beach - some good tunes, some great tunes and unfortunately some bad tunes makes for an uneven listen for me
4. Laura Marling - I Speak Because I Can - i can understand how she wouldn't be everyone's cuppa, but something about her just hits me right. top 10 for sure
1. Arcade Fire - The Suburbs - like bloor, i've finally come around on this one too. i like it better than neon bible but not better than the debut. still not going to be top 20 though

10. MGMT - Congratulations

This is one of the ten best albums of the year? Um, no. It may not have been one of the ten best albums released that week.
