Fair amount of overlap I guess between our lists....I almost expected more though based on your comment that our lists overlapped more than usual.

A few things I need to check out, most notably the Walkmen. I'm really surprised however how much you and Kingfish (if I'm remembering correctly) like that Henry Clay People album so much. I liked the first album somewhat despite my not wanting to like it. This album I come close to hating despite wanting to like it based on liking the last.

I at least feel a little vindicated by the absence of Justin Townes Earle on your list. I haven't given it a full fair shake but It seems to me to be a ryan adams'esque dialed in album yet Rogneeb and Loogs love it. I was fully prepared to write off radcliffe liking it as being a result of it being stripped of all country but rogneeb and loogs liking it so much makes it harder to dismiss. Listened to it again today and don't dislike but still consider it a much lesser effort.

Yeah, this JTE just never really clicked with me for whatever reason. I've gone back to it a few times and more or less feel the same.

As for the overlap, I think my comment was based more in that there were more things than usual on your list that I liked during the year...when it came time for list makin' they didn't all make the cut but that doesn't mean I didn't listen to and like them.

As for HCP, I think your dislike of them probably has a lot to do with seeing them live and they not being very good--I haven't seen them live but I can TOTALLY see them not being very good. Clunky. For whatever reason though, they do it for me on record.

Wasn't hard in the least for me to dismiss. I don't actively dislike it, but whatever it was that drew me in on his previous work is absent here. Maybe he needs to slow his output down a bit.

I saw HCP open for the Truckers, and while they were by no means great, they were a fantastic opening act. They had me nice and pumped for the rock show. I've had no desire to listen to their recorded material, though.

I didn't have it that high. I liked it but I was a little disappointed in it.

I didn't even know JTE had an album out this year until I saw his name on lists.

Somehow Spoon's Transference got edited out...it's Top 20 for me.

Dump, that Phish/Little Feat set is in the Box.

God bless.

How did this turn out for you? I played it yesterday and it scratched an itch for me; actually was better than I remembered.

I liked this way more than I should have incidentally. I've never really enjoyed one of their shows before but I played it over the holidays once but I really gave it a serious listen today on headphones. I think it's gonna make me go on a Little Feat binge.
