Been playing the shit out of Husker Du and The Wedding Present lately.

Also that last Little Jackie album.

The Biters EP from last year has been getting a ton of play lately.

Also, Cage The Elephant's "Aberdeen" has been a running mix staple for the past week.

The album's pretty good but that song is a great slice of early 90's Pixies-esque alt-rock.

Nothing really specific that I'm obsessing over, but I've been listening to a lot of late-'60s/early-'70s psychedelic rock and stuff.

I've been really enjoying these (some old favorites but most are new to me):

Aphrodite's Child - 666
Skip Spence - Oar
The Red Krayola - Parable of Arable Land/God Bless the Red Krayola and All Who Sail with It
Les Rallizes Dénudés – Heavier Than a Death in the Family (mostly late-'70s, technically)
The Pretty Things - SF Sorrow
13th Floor Elevators - Easter Everywhere**
Pink Floyd - Piper at the Gates of Dawn*
The Velvet Underground - White Light/White Heat*

*Old favorites back in rotation lately

**Giving them another shot after not really liking The Psychedelic Sounds of. I'm liking this one much more and thinking I need to go back and revisit the other one.

Aside the continuing Dead fixation, I've been listening to a lot of Miles Davis over the last month or so. Finally finished reading Miles and was trying to listen to the albums from the different periods as I went through it.

Also CBC3.

DJ, you ever listened to Miles' "Jack Johnson". About as close to a jazz/Dead fusion as there is. Very "jammy".

When I was seeking out the albums, I came across a lot of the box sets that Columbia put out over the last decade. The Complete Jack Johnson Sessions was one of them. That and the Complete Down On the Corner Sessions are incredible.

I'd love to hear those Sessions box sets, especially the On the Corner one.

I'd also recommend Live/Evil, Get Up with It, and Dark Magus. Those first two feature John McLaughlin on guitar on at least some of the tracks.

Thanks. I can up those albums I mentioned, if you want.

And if you don't have them, McLaughlin's My Goal's Beyond and Mahavishnu Orchestra - Inner Mounting Flame.

I need to get the Down on the Corner Sessions. I know a lot of people are critical of Down On the Corner but it's one of my favorite Miles albums if not my favorite.

I blame DJ for leading me astray.

I blame CCR.

But anyway, I'll up the fucking sets tonight regardless of their names.
