Zomes: Earth Grid

This one's a solo release from former Lungfish guitarist Asa Osborne. If a bit, ok a lot, of repetition doesn't bother you and you like droney, distorted keyboards, this will hit the spot. Not totally drone based as all the songs are backed up by some minimalistic drum loops and generally in addition to the drone keyboard parts, he tosses in a secondary more melodic keyboard bit in the background. No vocals. Fuzzy and trancelike. I actually quite like this.

Akron Family. This is easily my PPDD album of the year so far.

So all over the place yet enjoyable all the way through.

the noiser elements tend to grate on me after a while, but their ambient tunes do a decent job of balancing. I'd love to have some hallucinogens for these ambient tracks like "Castanet", "Fuji Two" and "Canopoly"
