I actually prefer Legendary Hearts, the follow-up to Blue Mask over Blue Mask. Pretty similar musically but thematically I enjoy Legendary Hearts more. Pretty sure that's a minority opinion.
But yeah, sad to see the guy go. He was a measuring stick for all that came after, most of which was subsequently found wanting. His Velvet Underground stuff alone was worth the legend; that he went on to put out some extraordinary music on his own after that was amazing. Berlin, Transformer, his underrated first self-titled, New York, and many more have long gotten plenty of time on the turntable and that's never gonna change.
