wow...100GB for the same price as the iPod 60GB! can you play this in your car and/or on your home stereo?

Yeah...you need to buy assessories but I think that's probably true of any mp3 player. They make an FM transmitter for it which would presumably work for both home and car. I bought one of those cassette adaptors for about $15 though which is what I use for the car and it sounds fine, and cord which runs from the headphone output splitting into left and right outputs for any stereo equipment. I've only used that while traveling but it seems to work fine also.

Another bonus with this one is that it is essentially just a laptop harddrive with a casing and some firmware installed. As long as this firm stays in business, I don't see why I couldn't continually reinstall larger storage drives as storage gets smaller and smaller.

100GB is a lot compared to the competition but I'm already almost out of space and there's tons of stuff I own that I'd ideally like to put on this thing.

nah, most of that shit's done before i get to it. despite most of these doctors' massive grammatical errors, they can cite like motherfuckers. and despite being able to swim across the reservoid to Schmidt's house, i don't follow baseball and you know it. I'm pretty sure he broke 500 (but barely) and I know he wore that wig the one year the press was all pissy with him. This makes him second to Lou Gehrig in my all time favorite player's list.

dri if you have space available on yr hard drive, you can use an ephpod program to extract stuff from your ipod back to your hard drive. kinda roundabout, but better than losing the stuff entirely and it is free.

i love you.

i thought you had to pay for this. i don't have room on my hd, but my friend said he'll let me use his gigs to do this.

I will take this moment to be a cock and point out that a board search reveals that I mentioned Ephpod first:

Well, I bought it yesterday at Best Buy; got the 3 year warranty; Dude, they have like special clear shopping bags that they SEAL at the top just for iPods. Then they walk you to the door. Hilarious.

Now, its accessory time. I got to look into getting a hardwired connection for the truck since my stereo has an "Aux" button that I'm assuming relates to an RCA input somewhere.......

Already having my roughly 9,000 or so song library ripped into iTunes rules! I just dragged in some shit last night and I'm off like a prom dress.

Thanks again for the input guys; expect more questions soon.

I don't have one, but I've heard good things about the iTrip.

I got the ICarplay thing. It works fine for me even if I get a little static in the city from time to time. In PTC it shouldn't mess with it.

I'll show it to you next weekend. The best feature is that it will charge it while you use it.

I have a question also:

Who here has a 3rd generation Ipod?

Can you put playlists on a 3rd gen?

If so, how the hell do you do it?

You just create a new playlist in iTunes. If you want to create one on the fly on your ipod, browse to a song you want on the playlist (it will be called "On the Go") and hold down the button in the center of the wheel till the song flashes.

I don't think his has on-the-go playlists, though I may be mistaken. It's the one with the four buttons on the top of thescroll wheel.

Ben - Plug yr. pod in, and highlight it, instead of your Library. Then hit that plus button, and a new playlist will appear. The just drag tracks into that. Pretty simple.

I really like the On The Go playlist feature, and have come up with some of my favorite playlists in that manner.

I just tried it here in my office and I indeed can make on-the-go playlists. I also had "display playlists" turned off.

Thanks Haq. I was debating on getting an Ipod shuffle strictly for running and working out since I was only able to play albums and everything on random. Now I can actually make a playlist of upbeat stuff.

This is like finding gold in my back yard.

omg, don't get the i-trip. i found that to be a waste of $40. i got the hardwired connection for my car instead... and let me tell you, it is the best thing ever.

the cable costs about $20, and you have to make sure your stereo has an output connection in the back and then they'll install it for you... then all you have to do is plug in the cable to the top of your i-pod and voila! the sound is so much better than the i-trip and you just make sure the setting on the stereo is on AUX. and you're set.

A couple of kids put their opinions to work re: FM Transmitters for iPod's in THIS THREAD. I think I'm going to get the Monster FM Transmitter/iPod charger that Cotton has.

as a semi-related question, how do you take playlists off of a 4G IPod? I think I have 4 on-the-go things on there right now, and nothing in them. It's just annoying...

Is there some link to this product? This would be amazingly awesome. I'm going to look into seeing if my Pioneer radio has an output connection right now!
