Awww gee, I find it extremely heartwarming that you love your family so much, TJ. I wanna find someone who cares for me the same way. Shit, you're gonna make ME cry!!

Btw, you're not gonna post random photos of you in while drunk and in your boxers, are you??

Hmmm I usually go for some Jeff Buckley and select joseph arthur and Ed Harcourt tunes. And certain Todd Rundgren and Rickie Lee jones songs too.

Weds? hmmm... my schedule next week with charlie has changed and we don't have him weds night and josh has rehearsal and I don't work til 10:30 thursday. Where is this Hidden Shamrock joint? If it's nearby maybe, not a yes, I'll come. I'm broke this week so if maybe you boys buy me a couple drinks I may swing it.

I definitely put in sad music when I am feeling down. I also put in sad music when I am happy, so I can be brought down. Aaron can attest to this. Apparently I am stuck in self-loathing.

Some of my favorites are the Red House Painters, Buckley, Mazzy Star, Patrick Park, Radiohead(very occassionally), Beck(Sea Change).

I'm all about the melancholy music when I'm saaadddd.....
For some reason, the second half of Before and After Science always ends up on my speakers or in my head, "By This River" and "Spider and I" in particular.

Yeah, Joe, you like to punish yourself. Someone else we know had a similar propensity. Remember how much she would be affected by like 5 notes of the crappiest songs and then put in a different cd and make you listen to the 3rd stanza of another song?

She make-a me happy. Not sad. But that's a hormonal reaction, I'd say.

She's as sultry as an obsessive compulsive germ-phobic standoffish freak can get.

She was good in Quest For Fire.

I think it was Quest For Pride

Folasade Adu Dawn Chong

I think it was How Stella Got Her Groove Back.

I don't know if you are into him, Timmy, but Iron & Wine has done me right in this kind of situation. Sad, pretty, hopeful, etc.

I have forgotten, Jesus.

Which reminds of something else...what was that random phone call from Brent a few weeks ago about? I got off the phone and I believe I said, "what the fuck?" (internally of course)

Aaron, that's funny you say that, I'm listening to the Woman King EP right now!

Tania, I may or may not be posting pictures of me in my boxers. I don't want to creep anyone out though. I guess I can't be creepier than Chase in his t-shirt. ;)

Good call. I was going to say that I've listened to Sun Kil Moon lately when I've been feeling down. Awesome album. Cat Power is good too, especially her latest one.

Galaxie 500
Richard and Linda Thompson
Tindersticks
Red House Painters
Nico (Desertshore)
Big Star (Third)
Mazzy Star

And if I'm really, overwhelmingly depressed, Joy Division.

How could I forget... Leonard Cohen - Songs of Love and Hate.

That's actually my favorite of them all.

Although it has some upbeat songs, I always viewed Laid as a very downhearted album. For example, "Say Something" sounds like a classic Cure song in the sense that they can keep a good tempo going, but the lyrics and overall mood is pretty dark and depressing.

That's a good point. Also, to add, I think that Pictures of You by the Cure is a great song to listen too when feeling down.

I tend to listen to sad or depressing music when I'm sad. Sometimes it can be too much though, like Portishead.

Hang in there!

Depending on why I'm sad, I'll listen to mellow/sad music. But I try to listen to something that will get me in a better mood, or angry music just to let my frustration out.

You're fortunate to have a wonderful family that cares about you and vice versa, hang in there.
