'Sides, how can you have sex with a girl named "Jilly"? "Ohhhhhhh, Jilly....ohhhh yes, Jilly." Hell no, it just doesn't work.

Yup. Or rather, not all girls/women want or find attractive the so called model type of he-man male. I find that gross. Not that it counts for me since I'm married now, but hey.

I mean before Josh I had this horrible, horrible habit of meeting and falling for guys that had JUST broken up with longtime girlfriends. I think I dated three in a row. Something like that. Of course I dated them for a while but the whole time they pined over that ex, and sometimes around me, then they'd apologize about it. Talk about making a girl feel great. Two of em went back to those girls not long after we'd broken up. Ouch.

I think when Josh and I realized we liked each other as more then friends I asked him right away" when was the last time you dated someone and how long for."

What constitutes as a "great" music collection?

a music collection that doesn't consist soley of that which is force fed to us via mtv and top 40 radio. it just needs to have a little imagination.

(music is important to me. by saying that one must have a 'great' music collection....i just mean that i need this to be understood and respected. our music collections don't have to jive. but the guy has to be open minded enough to know (and respect) that i can, and often do, listen to the grateful dead and then turn around and listen to the pixies or whatever. i like diversity and am very open-minded. and now i'm rambling.....)

Been looking for that guy myself. To quote Bono..."but, I still haven't found what I'm looking for". Daystar, if you find yours, will you ask him if he has any friends or brothers just like him? I'll do the same for you.

I've come to the conclusion that the vast majority of women suck, and the vast majority of men suck (not that I'm into men, just sayin'). It's hard to find a good mate, and I'm all about a woman being up front and forward with me about what she wants (or doesn't want). Screw subtlety and game playing.

The woman I've been dating recently actually asked me out first, which I found to be a refreshing change from most situations. Bottom line: I say don't linger and beat around the bush; just go for it.

The aggressive vs. non-aggressive stance with women is a weird one. Now with me being married now, I'm not pursuing men anyway, but back in the old days when I still dated... in my teens, I was very shy and never knew how to act around boys, but found out later that some of my most lusted after classmates actually had a thing for me but didn't know how to approach me (drat!). In my 20s, I was very aggressive. I figured I'd missed out in my teens so I was making up for it. Most guys at that point in my life weren't used to having girls be aggressive, so it worked to my advantage. Now that I'm in my 30s, if I were single again, I'm not sure how aggressive I'd be. There's a fine line now where aggressive seems to equal desperate. Not only are you dealing with men who may be recently divorced (potential sour taste in mouth on failed relationship), or have kids (not available to you 24-7 or may not put you first), or have never been married (don't like the idea of commitment or have too many "issues" to have commited before), but you're no longer that alluring 20 year old whose hijinks could be considered "innocent" or "whimsical." I'm not sure what the proper balance is, Aural, so I can see where you're coming from.

As for the men you like and missing out on an opportunity, might I suggest when you first get that inkling that you like him, you ask him out for a drink or coffee right away? I don't think that's too aggressive, it will give him a sign that you'd like to talk to him more, and it will give you a chance to see if he's really all that. You know, it could also be that you like them more after someone else has snagged them. Who knows, maybe he's a complete bore, but because you never had that opportunity, you build him up to be something more than he is. Just a thought.

Anyhow, waste no time, Tania... move on and find the next guy!

Oh man, I always end up dating THAT guy. It sucks. I'm the "rebound" and then they end up back with their gf's.

And I have a tendency to go for assholes. Last guy I dated was this nice, intelligent dude who was in law school- I got so bored of him FAST (plus he would always bitch at how I like to party). So either way, I lose. And then there's those guys I date that freak out, disappear, and then end up calling me again. I'm sorry I'm not going to be into you when it's convienent for you. Fuck that.

Therefore I decided that I give up on dating entirely.

No doubt. All that every got me was friends with girls. They'd then head off with some meathead after i entertained them.

Cruel world we live in.

why is it that guys complain girls don't hit on them, so when we do, and we make our move- they freak out? i'm aggressive (to a certain extent) and i want someone, i go for it. they end up being weird about it though b/c they're "not used to girls hitting on them or making the first move." hel-LO we don't live in the 50s anymore!

so i say fuck it. you all say you want a cool girl who's smart and independent and isn't needy, then when you do get her- you get intimidated. pussies. then you just end up going for the ditsy gold-digging sluts.

seriously.
