Cake donuts are a suckass excuse for real donuts.

There is a place in Waldorf, MD called the Wigwam that is shaped like a wigwam and sells these big ass eclairs that weigh about a pound and a half.

I'm not big on donuts, or as we like to call them, doughnuts. There is a place in town that makes cupcakes that are so sweetly good they should come with a shot if insulin. And that's all they bake is cupcakes and a few kinds of cookies.

If you guys want some good bakery, come to Milwaukee.
We have tons of small mom and pops all over the place.

Just within 10-12 blocks of my house there are 4 small bakeries, and not a Krispy Kreme, or Dunkin' Donuts in sight.

It's all the Germans, Poles, Danes, Etc. Lots of immigrants settled in these parts. You wouldnt believe it if I told you...

This is my fave.

Woohoo! Across the street from here is a great pizza place, and a gormet chocolate shop... here... http://chocolatesonline.com/

it's deadly driving through here....

Hinkel's Donuts. Toledo OH. The donuts are decents, but their bear claws are outstanding.

Krispy is ace as well.

Dinkel's in Chicago on Lincoln between Belmont and Addison have pretty good donuts if you get them fresh.

Dunkin Donuts are kinda shitty but I still eat them anyways. Mostly the chocolate stick, butternut, coconut and glazed. Well I did eat them, I'm trying to not go to DD anymore.

I like how Krispy Kremes hands out free samples.

The worst donuts on this planet. If I wanted to taste nothing but sugar, I'd take handfuls of C&H Sugar and shove 'em down my throat.

We think alike once again. Except I think Krispy Krap donuts taste like a mouthful of grease.

I've always thought that maybe it's my supertaster issues - most of what everyone raves about tastes pretty damn gross to me. Yeah, you thought it was just a weird TMBG song they made up. Supertasters are real!

Amigo please. If you grew up on Krispy Kremes, you would be singing a different tune. Sure, mom and pop cake donuts can be awesome, but there's nothing like cold KK donuts that have been in the fridge overnight. Ridiculously awesome.

Well, only if you don't mind moving to Colorado City . . . and, of course, my wife doesn't mind the competition. :)

We have a couple mom n pop donut shops near my pad. Not only do they make awesome donuts, they have the most delicious croissants!

Heh, I got love for the KK's, but don't eat them very often. Tania, I'm sure you'll understand this, but ONE KK doughnut is 6 points in WW speak. That's like an entire meal, and that ain't enough.

A friend came back from Israel once with a box of breakfast cereal called "Choco Crack". 'Twas funny.

Um, why hasn't anyone mentioned jelly donuts yet? Mmmmm..... Also, maple. I love the maple taste, and donuts are one of the few foods where you can get that.

I'm on a slight Dunkin Donuts coffee roll binge (though of course in any real bakery they're called cinnamon swirls).
