No Goats, No Glory - The Goats
this never holds up as well as i'd like, but there's still some songs that make it totally worthwhile. Still better than WNOC.

yeah, I think Tricks holds up a little better, but both suck me back to the early-to-mid 90s in a flash, and not in the best way imaginable.

WNOC was a local band ("white ni**as on crack") that toured in much the same circles as the Goats. Far more metal than the goats, but not all that far off in sound and self-destruction. I might still have their album lying around somewhere.

I can't believe WNOC is still getting mentioned. I couldn't stand that band. I only had to sit through them at a 'Battle of the Bands' thing that was at the TLA in 1998. I went to see the Disco Biscuits (who played the best set of the night IMO) and ended up having to listen to WNOC for WAY too long.

Granted, I'm probably still bitter about the fact that a wonderful woman who I was sorta/kinda dating was obsessed with the WNOC drummer. I still wonder if that's who she ended up settling down with in Manayunk. But I digress.

WNOC = blah.

oh totally. i'm shocked they were still around in '98. really shocked. if it makes you feel better i went out with a girl for like a week who left me to go back to the Disco Biscuits' keyboardist. i was not that hurt.
