Last name is Cook, so when I was younger, the playground geniuses came up with Cookie and every variation of it. By the time Married with Children came on, I was often referred to as 'Bud', as I somewhat resembled the actor playing him.

I can't say I cared for either of those names. I always thought Married with Children was fucking stupid.

Primary School - Dadas (no idea, David Gill made up all the nicknames - ask him)

Secondary School - Darena (my best friend called me this cos I grew my hair) or alternatively Liono, because my hair looked abit like the aforementioned Thundercat (which were all the rage back then).

God! I hate nicknames!

chuck, as my middle name is charles. i don't think anyone calls me that now except my family and old friends. it's pretty annoying when i get these old aunts or whatever who haven't seen me in awhile and they call me "chuckie" like i'm still 13 or something.

Young kid:
Dad called me 'Bugs'. He said it was because I had attitude like Bugs Bunny, which I watched all the time.

Middle/High School:
-JuJuBee- I have no idea why.
-Empty Bucket- If you say my first and last name with a Southern accent it comes off sounding like 'air in a pail'= an empty bucket.
-Thunder Thighs- because I have big leg muscles, did gymnastics for years and was a sprinter on the track team.
-Turtle Woman- I'm always 5 minutes late.

At work I have a bunch too, just all variations on my first initial- Tiny E, Lil' E, E-Bomb, E-Unit, etc...

hey bitch.

actually there was this guy in 4-7th grade who i later realized had a crush on me and he always called me laura li (pronounced lie) for which i constantly flicked the back of his ears cuz he usually sat in front of me due to alphabetization. although he appreciated my tomboyhood he would always be nice to me like he would to a "girlfriend" and i really didn't know what to do with that. so i smacked 'im around a lot.

then there was this kid, sammy lenosi, who would call me gentle ben ( the tv show with the bear) for which i would pummle him (seriously) every chance i got after school (5th grade.) he loved the attention i think.

oh yeah. i got loJERKo a lot (last name's LoChirco)

Big Guy (basketball coach name for me)
Philsey (Mom called me that)
Philly (Dad called me that)
Phyllis (elementary school insult)
Star (when I started dressing like Bowie instead of like a farm kid)
That Towheaded Shaw Faggot What-His-Face (sundry drunken local rednecks)
Shard (D & D name from junior high)
Truck (potato farm name for me because I used to be able to hoist up a full barrel of potatoes onto farm trucks without grapples and lifts.

Some short lived middle school nicknames:

Switz - because I was always neutral regarding arguments among friends

Scope - at a week long school camp thing, i acted out of character one night (like, actually talking to people and stuff) and was asked if I had been drinking my Scope

Nessi - I like swimming in our lake. A lot.

I've had a few as well. Lessee...

Peanut: Dad gave all four of us nicknames he used when we were toddlers
Top Cat: Dad's friend used this as a cross between the cartoon character and my first two initials, TC
Downtown: If your last name is Brown, this will inevitably come up. Mine was also shortened to DTCB
Doo Doo Brown: Brand new brotha in town...hehehe, I love you, Doo Doo. I still get this one from people I played football & baseball with.
TCB: My initials, which also happen to be immortalized by Elvis' "Taking Care of Business" artifacts.
T. Cory: How I sign my name. Not exactly a nickname, but it was kind of weird when everyone just started calling me that.

Monk - By my father as a kid, and to this day by my friend Rich. Short for "Monkey" (though I did develop a monk's hairline years later).

Reno - Also by my father. Short for Stevereno, taken from the old Steve Allen Tonight Show. In 4th grade, a substitute teacher also called me Stevereno, so then I was Reno in school for the next 5 years or so.

Bun E. - My resemblance to drummer Bun E. Carlos from Cheap Trick.

Lumpy, Unky Lump - Friends' variations on my self-applied moniker

The album came out before he was "taken away," didn't it?

So it's more of a cruel irony, really. Like if there was a picture of John Bonham next to a sign that said "Sleep on your side."

They (and by "they" I mean, "me") used to call me, "Sticks" because I played drums. That, and I was (am) really, really thin.

During Mr. Polzin's 7th grade science class, I blurted out one of my typically inane observations, resulting in being immediately (and for the remainder of my school days) dubbed "Magoo" by put-off classmate Rene Contreras. The kid was all of 4'10" and looked like the mentally challenged bastard love child of Lancelot Link and Zira, but for some reason the little S.O.B. had street cred, so the name stuck. I don't have many fond memories of Jr. High.

For some reason this made me laugh pretty hard. It reminded my of Old School when Vince Vaughn says Blue is legit.
