Jesus man, don't cancel Iceland unless you have to! I went there last summer for two weeks and loved every minute of it. I went to ACL a couple years ago and that was cool too but Iceland was simply amazing. Besides, you can maybe catch Sigur Ros or see the caldera where Bjork played a concert on a raft.

Here's how I break it down:
ACL = cheaper
ACL = better food
ACL = better music
ACL = more trees
Iceland = more isolatated
Iceland = more scenic beauty
Iceland = more sheep

Here's my break-out of where these bands stand for me. I'll be at the festival and I'm already thinking about how to prioritize who to see. I hear more bands will be added later as well. I might need help here, especially with the never heard of/no interest category. If there are any bands on that part of the list that I'd be an idiot to miss, let me know. It's possible I'd love them but just don't know it because I haven't heard them.

Definites:
Wilco
Arcade Fire
Built to Spill
The Doves
The Black Keys
The Walkmen
Spoon
The Decemberists

Probables but could be sacrificed if need be:
Coldplay
Death Cab for Cutie
Bloc Party
Franz Ferdinand
Keane
The Futureheads
Bobby Bare Jr.
Split Lip Rayfield
Ambulance Ltd

Will catch if I can:
Dios Malos
Oasis
The Allman Brothers Band
Bob Mould
Rilo Kiley
The Secret Machines
The Frames
Wayne Hancock
Steve Earle & The Dukes
Sleater-Kinney
Jimmy Cliff

Curious but only if there's time:
Buddy Guy
Jet
Lyle Lovett
Kasabian
The Fiery Furnaces
Aqualung
Tegan and Sara
The Bravery
Tortoise
The New Amsterdams

Bottom of the list but will catch if there's nothing else to do:
Widespread Panic
The Black Crowes
Gov't Mule
Mike Gordon & Leo Kottke
John Prine
Thievery Corporation
M83
Zykos
Eisley
Mike Doughty
Oliver Future

Never heard of/no interest:
Robert Randolph & The Family Band
Lucinda Williams
Dierks Bentley
Zap Mama
Robert Earl Keen
Blue October
Grupo Fantasma
Kermit Ruffins
The Dirty Dozen Brass Band
Bettye La Vette
Rev. Dan Willis & The All Nations Choir
Morgan Heritage
Ricardo Lemvo & Makina Loca
Ruthie Foster
Slightly Stoopid
Brave Combo
Dave Alvin & The Guilty Men
Marc Broussard
Bruce Robison
Missy Higgins
Nine Black Alps
Kevin Fowler
Grady
Willy Mason
The Weary Boys
Rick Trevino
Sound Team
Asylum Street Spankers
Pong
The Real Heroes
Bukka Allen
Hairy Apes BMX
The Lost Trailers
The Gospel Stars
Donna The Buffalo
The Shields of Faith
Star Kids Yoga
The Jones Family Singers
South Austin Jug Band
The Lighthouse Singers
Casey McPherson
Kacy Crowley
Tristen Prettymen
The Massacoustics
Joe McDermott
Sara Hickman
Imagination Movers
Free Sõl
Inara George
KJAE
Austin Hartley-Leonard
Maneja Beto
Austin Collins Band
The Biscuit Brothers
Naturally Seven
Patrick Davis Band
November
Kelley Hunt
Kate York
Mates of State
Mindy Smith
Martin Sexton
Federico Aubele
Mouse on Mars
Kathleen Edwards
Asleep at the Wheel
Rachael Yamagata
Mofro
The Ditty Bops

ABSOLUTELY NOT:
Jason Mraz

I'm going again. I went last year and had a fucking blast. Had one of the best shroom trips of my life on Saturday/night.

andyfest.... I wouldn't sacrifice Bobby Bare Jr. He was one of the best sets I saw all last year at ACL.

yes, but a huge bill from the IRS this year means an austin trip would be easier than an iceland trip

What are you going to Chicago for Lollapalooza or Intonation?

Right on. You really can't compare the cost of the two trips. Iceland will cost 10x as much, at least.
