Coldplay backlash has gone mainstream, which means that Coldplay backlash backlash is en vogue.

If I only like The Scientist and Yellow off their past albums, is there a song on this I can steal I'll actually listen to?

"fix you"

IMO, the best piece of music they've ever created.

now STFU and buy the album.

thanks, Chris Martin

It's actually a pretty good record. A little derivative of their own and other like-minded artists, but enjoyable all the same. If you like Parachutes and A Rush of Blood, then you'll like the new one. If you don't like Coldplay and their ilk then you won't like the new one. It's pretty simple.

The one they wrote for Johnny Cash.

Because the ones that sound like The Scientist and Yellow sound LIKE The Scientist and Yellow.

Alright, I'll listen to "Fix You"

And they wrote a song for Johnny Cash?

Wasn't the point of the thread "Should Paldisiac buy the record" rather than which form of backlash is cooler to resist?

I think many of the original answers on the "no" side were based on the fact that the record is quite accessible without spending any money right now and in a couple of months, you can find a cheap used copy. Maybe in a couple of days or weeks.

C'mon... just admit that you love them and get it over with. It's not like some one is going to follow you around all over New England with a sign that says "HE LOVES COLDPLAY!"

I've never found Coldplay to be my cup of tea, starting with "Yellow" on the radio. I've owned, downloaded and listened to zero Coldplay albums. I did hear what I would assume to be one of the new songs on the radio today, and I didn't change the station. I'm not going to buy this album either, but it was tolerable.

How about this? Coldplay always sucked, and I always thought so, but couldn't say anything since everyone here was fighting to get Chris Martin's limp cock in their slavering maws. Ever since parachutes, i was always getting cussed out for not liking them.

I feel slightly safer now in saying that they were always an untalented band with no substance, I just don't know why it took you three albums to figure it out.

Yellow was their best single, and it's a flaming pile of pig shit.

If you like 'em, knock yourself out, I can't deal with those fuckers.

In 1998 I loved them.

In 2002 I liked them a lot.

In 2005 I think they're a very sincere anthemic pop band with a quartet of guys I wouldn't mind having a beer with.

I'll conveniently look the other way while you do the Snoopy dance.

How could you love Coldplay in 1998? You got some sort of EP or something?

If there is backlash against the Snoopy dance I'm buying a shotgun and sorting shit out.

Honestly, how could you hate Coldplay this much? I don't mean it in a "cuss you out for not liking them" way, I just don't understand the vitriol for such an innocuous band. It is like ranting about hating milkshakes or something.

Just curious.

Oh, wait...they're cool, though.

This is absolute classic stuff, well done Idiopathic. White Stripes is a BIG let down but will probably buy it anyways because it's them and I hope it grows on me.

Coldplay has gotten me laid in the past so they will always have a special place in my heart.
