nah because noone cares about those teams

Actually the attendance for the Sox is on pace to be the best in 11 seasons (back when, you know, they were outdrawing the cubs). For some reason ESPN has a love affair with the Cubs and Red Sox no matter how mediocre they are year-in and year-out.

I wouldn't call Boston mediocre, they have a better record than they did this time last year, and are closer to first place as well. Any network is going to televise the defending world champions especially in a series like this one.

That's still 23 thousand more baseball fans at their games any given night than the cubs. Big deal.

3 sellouts with the Cubs + 3 sellouts with the yankees = serious boost in attendance to come. Those numbers are right, but they will be averaging AT LEAST 26-27,000 by the time the season is over.

I give a shit insofar as it sets the budget for the upcoming year. More attendance = more free agency spending.

Yeah, but it's still hilarious to see Cubs' fans last line of defense consistently be that Cubs attendance is better than the Sox.

You're not really going to compare a team without Schilling and without Martinez and WITH David Wells to last year, record-wise, are you

it's not a last line of defense. it's just amazing that a first place team in a major market, a record better than ALL of baseball, can't get 25K people to come out.

we just did. We just averaged 26,000 for a six game homestand. The next homestand, we'll average well over 30,000. This is just the beginning. The park looks better than ever and Sox fans are coming out of the woodwork everywhere. I can't think of a non-opener, non-Cubs, non-yankees game that was sold out in the past five years, but low and behold we had one last week.

i guess I was referring to the average up to now.
i went to a sox game last year only for it to be rained out. I was in the bar area thing out in rightfield. I still haven't seen a game in US Cell

My only complaint about ESPN is this will be the third Red Sox game I will have to watch this week, well, second, since their game on Wednesday was delayed by rain. Aren't there any other interesting games going on? I just don't get it.

Since they are doing better right now than they were last year at this time I think they are well beyond mediocre. Wells looked fine the other night against St Louis and has only walked 4 batters all year. He's a #5 guy in the rotation once Schilling returns.

don't i wish. seems that a project that has to get out today is pending changes, so I have to wait until that is done.

That's pretty embarrassing that the pitcher hit a home run.
