I think you are witnessing a couple dynamics at work.

First of all, you are correct, better looking people have easier lives. Sorry, but its true.

Secondly, poor people have generally a worse go of making the best of what they do have.

I don't understand how both of these statements could be quite true, since endless studies have suggested that, beyond being able to pay for the minimum resources one needs to live comfortably (food, water, shelter), there is absolutely no difference between the satisfaction-of-living between lower-class, middle-class, and upper-class people. Those that are happy as millionaires would still be happy if they had been born poor, and those that are miserable in the lower-class would still be miserable if they won the lottery. If you're suggesting that poor people are less satisfied with their lives because they are less attractive, I believe there is some flaw in your theory.

people are born with good looks just like some people are born with good personalities. Why do people in society say, "She can't help being ugly, thats how she was born. Don't be mean," but they never say, "don't be mean to her, she can't help being whiney, annoying and self-centred."? I mean, aren't people born with personality traits too? I don't necessarily agree or disagree but it's kind of a double standard.

damn, i wanted to be the clever one who pointed that out.

Don't worry, it's not clever. I almost deleted that just cause I knew some idiot would quote it.

You've just been deemed one of the ugly people. 8)

This is actually a pretty good question on its own...

Those of you with lots of experience - is it your impression that attractive people were better in the sack, or perhaps were the "6-beer-minimum, lights-off" lovers more talented?

Granted, we're tempted to say that:
1. If they're "hotter," we're predetermined to think whatever they're doing is better than it maybe is, and they don't try as hard...
2. If they're less attractive, they probably know it and make up for it with real effort.

Still, what's the concensus?

In my experience, better looking people don't always make the better lover. Though, I'll go out on a limb and say that a lot of people probably 'forgive' them for their sub-par lovemaking because of their physical attraction.

Well, I'm not talking about satisfaction with life. I'm only talking about making the best of what they have in terms of their physical attractiveness. And, when I say attractive people are more successful, I am only speaking of financial success, not any sort of subjective happiness in life rating.

I always wonder whu its Ok to discriminate against stupid people. It's not their fault they're stupid, but I never hear anyone get upset when someone comments on how they hate stupid people.

But are the rants against "stupid people" specifically toward people of low clinically-tested IQs, or is it a generalized term describing people who did/do something that said ranter would not do (or vice versa)? The same motivation is probably AMGL's example about personality traits.

...that and a refusal to see ourselves as having those qualities that are causing us to rant. I mean... I've never been racist, sexist, perverse, manipulative, hateful, selfish, insensitive, mean, superficial, controlling, or snobby EVER! Really. I'm perfect that way.

from my experience, some attractive people aren't better in the sack, and it's unfortunate. it's always the ones you least expect.

Bad sex? I never knew there was such a thing. Anytime I have an orgasm is a good time had by all.

The fuglies gotta hook you with something, and if they have to resort to superlative tongue-to-ball action then dammit use the gift's your creator bestowed on you, just don't try to make eye contact while you're down there.

Seeing as "your type" equals Thom Yorke, I've gotta assume a whole lotta ugly dudes are getting in their shots.
