I own this book. The only thing I can't find for a reference was a short film about labyrinths I saw like ten years ago or so. It had some great images and explanations and how nearly all cultures through all time used them to express the journey of life. The native american ones were most intriguing.

That's a cool site. Too bad it's only Western symbols--I guess that's why there's no lotus flower there. Thanks for the link, I love that kind of stuff.

I've got "Love Conquers Hate" over my hate crime scar.

If I wasn't poor, I'd have lots. As it is, I'm very glad I've got this one, and if I'm ever only going to have one, this is the one I wanted the most.

Well, a great tattoo artist managed to make the swastika on my right arm in to a peace sign. Hence, my wife doesn't know about my early misguided days.

My dad was beaten up and doused with gasoline by rednecks in Lawton, OK when he and my mom first immigrated. State Troopers saved his life, but as educated as he was, I grew up with him being very prejudiced, which was contrary to the faith that he practiced, and the way that he and my mom raised me and my brothers. He was cool with individuals, but would make broad statements that bothered me.

I was carjacked by 3 carloads of skinheads right before I student taught, and they beat the holy hell out of me. It caused the end of a relationship with a girl that I was crazy about. It made me understand my dad more. And I was presented with a choice, and I feel that hate is taught, not bred, and it made me want to teach even more.

My parents didn't know about it till last august...

But I'm alive, and alive is better than dead, so enough of this shit, let's go have a beer.
