i tried to watch some of this thing a few minutes ago but i just can't follow through.

Tried watching on VHI and finally said screw it. Lots of talking by insipid MTV/VHI hosts followed by brief cut-ins to the music then back to some stupid 5 minute interview (Jimmy Fallon was just on talking about how cool the Coldplay/Richard Ashcroft set was, of course VHI showed only about 15 seconds of it.) So far, it's been a total waste of time.

Are these streams really live on AOL music?? If so, this is very cool. I want to be in Paris now! Shakira and Muse!

Seeing Sway and that hot VH1 chick dancing to Destiny's Child was enough to make me turn off the TV and turn on the computer. Good, lord...I need to go outside.

I'd rip on U2 but now even ripping on U2 has been overdone...

Now I'll never be able to listen to "Drive" by the Cars again...

I just caught some of the Canadian concert. Yikes. Simple Plan's inane yelping was bad enough, but Deep Purple doing a basement hack band version of "Smoke On The Water" seemed like cruel comedy. I'm glad that shit's going on 2,000 miles away so us west coast denizens don't have to take any responsibility for it.

When I watch TV and see those poor starving kids all over the world, I can't help but cry. I mean, I'd love to be skinny like that, but not with all those flies and death and stuff.

There's a stunning dearth of actual singing, like in tune, and playing, like competently, in these particular performances today.

I don't know which is worse, an aging Stevie Wonder singing off-key or MTV cuttting away to idiot announcers during Stevie. He's still Stevie even if he wasn't very good.

Yeah, everyone I've seen either whole performances of clips of sounded awful. They must have the worst sound system/engineers working this damn thing known to man.

And it's hilarious how the crowds are just so unresponsive to so many performers(Madonna, Mariah Carey for example). Hell, even The Who sounded kinda crappy.

I finally had to turn it off. I'm home sick in bed and it literally made my stomach feel worse then it already did.
