Juvie hall, baby.

Glad you're getting your stuff back. Glad the kid's dad did the stand-up thing.

Lock your damned car, next time

You know it.

This kid is a cousin of the neighbor's kid. Neighbor's kid is in short-time in juvey for breaking the first kid's arm. Looks like this other one might end up in juvey, too, if the police press charges.

It's a shame. My daughter thought he was cute, too.

Cops are wondering if I want to talk to the boy. I told them, no, just let me know when I can get my music back and I'm not pressing charges. I think the dad is probably coming down pretty hard on the kid about now.

This is so so so shitty. I hate it when my car gets busted into. It's happened about 4,5 times the past few years and everytime I lose a few cds. Y'know that Wrens Meadowlands hand made advanced cd? I've had two(!) of those swiped. I haven't replaced it. I just figure it wasn't right for me to own that cd. Now I try only to bring a small booklet of burned cds along with me.

A question about insurance. Will this stuff be covered under it? There is some rule here that to be claimed the items have to be bolted down or a permanent fixture in the vehicle. You can claim your car deck but not the cds.

So glad they found your stuff, but an 11 year old? That's tough, but at the same time, the kid needs to learn a lesson (I'm sure his dad will make sure that happens since he brought the kid in).

Why is an eleven-year-old roaming rural Maine at midnight in the middle of November?

Rather than community service, maybe they can sentence him to cover the 4 a.m. shift at the radio station.

He lives down the street. They do have streets here, you know.

I was about to say that it was probably someone who knew you. Anyway, happy you got your CDs back. I'm sure the boy's father will discipline him.

All in all, a happy ending.

this thread title needs to be updated...

Edit: on a side note, that little 11 year old must have been pretty strong to lift 500 cd's. Now that's some heavy shit. Or he spent enough time to make multiple trips.

What was the kid doing up so late anyway.

Why the hell do you need 500 cd's in your car anyway? What kind of cd changer do you have in that thing? ;)

I had them in two big radio equipment bags and kept them by my computer. When I went to visit a friend, he said "bring some cds over." I was too lazy to search through them and just plunked both bags into the car. Then I just grabbed a couple of handfuls before I went into his house. Shoulda just grabbed them from next to the computer.

And I suspect the kid had help from other "supposed to be in bed" kids

You can't fool me, I know that you all ride Moose-driven sleighs through the eternal snow, fearing the biting wind and possible Wendigo attacks.

Was sick last night.
Forgot to put the car in the garage.
Forgot to lock it.
Forgot I had two huge CD cases of about 500 cds on the floor in the back seat.
They're gone.
On my way now to file a police report.
A third of my CDs gone.
Not happy.

Sorry Spoon. That really sucks. I don't know how this has not happened to me yet (even thought I pretty much only keep ripped CDs/mixes in my car).

I've learned my lesson. Just have been so used to carting CDs back and forth from the stations I've worked for over the past 20 years.

Had a bunch of music stolen many years ago, too (like 1990 or 91, I'm getting old, so it's getty hazy) but that was from a storage facility and more than just records and tapes disappeared that time.
