I say we do it. Drinky Crow's idea of dubbing the previous entries onto a new cd and then adding your own sounds like the best idea.

If you're interested in ONLY the CD in the mail idea, keep your posts coming and I'll tally them up on Monday when I get to work.

Why not just send CD-RWs? That way the first recipient (for example) can burn his own song after the original song on a new re-writable, send that disc on to recipient #2 and keep the original CD-RW to replace the one he's just sent off. And so on. And so on.

It doesn't save much money, but it does save everyone from having to toss a useless disc into the trash.

If there's a question mark by your name, it's because I wasn't sure if you are in or not. Let me know either way. I'd like to get a few more people involved so whoever else is interested, post it here.

The Rules (for those who will be participating...)
*These could change. I'll keep you informed.
1. The CD-RW idea is fine I think. I'll leave it up to the individual what he / she wants to use. CD-R or CD-RW.
2. The process will begin with me burning a song on a CD-R / CD-RW and then finalizing it. The next person who receives the CD will then go ahead and burn the existing song on a seperate CD. All finalizing whether it's on a seperate CD recorder or your computer must be done before mailing the CD to the next person on the list. This will continue until all participants have recorded their respective song.
3. As far as the songs go, there are no rules regarding what song to add to the mix. The one thing I ask is please try to keep it to one artist / band per mix.
4. When receiving the updated CD, each person will also receive the list of people involved and their mailing addresses. Your goal is to mail the CD, after you've burned the existing songs on a separate CD and added your own, to the next person on the list. Also, please make sure to write down the song and artist you've added, next to your name on the list.

That's it for now. Let's try and get some more people to participate.

If you're participating, please E-mail me your name and mailing address to the.doll.is.mine@gmail.com

Wait, so say i'm the third guy on the list. When I receive the cd, there will be two songs on it. Do I ever get a copy of the final disc?

Yes, your track will be third on the mix and all participants will get a copy of the final product. Should I add you to the list, idiot? ;)
