Single most favourite song? I don't think I could...well, maybe "Echoes" by Pink Floyd...nope, it's "The Power of Love" by Frankie Goes to Hollywood...or maybe it's "Circles In The Sand" by Tear Garden...nope, now it's "Dream On" by Aerosmith...

Bold As Love, Jimi Hendrix. I intentionally listen to it maybe only once every 3 or 4 years, so I don't wear the Good off it too fast.

I can never answer these kind of theads because I think I'm seriously too musically schizophrenic. I mean, if I had options to narrow down the criteria [i.e. "what is your favorite song by a Scottish group in the 1990s?" or "what is your favorite song by an American female born in the 1970s?" etc.] I might be able to...

Heh...having said that, I would probably say anything in the Elliott Smith catalogue :) No wait, how about "She Said, She Said" by the Beatles or no wait... anything from Bowie between the years of....or Kate Bush...

Nah, can't do it....it just depends on my mood, my hormones, the quality of the light in the sky.

mine definitely changes daily.

however, if i were to pick a favorite OF ALL TIME.....
i'd have a hard time choosing between....

or
gold soundz ~ pavement

Slowdive - When The Sun Hits
Marvin Gaye - I Heard It Through The Grapevine
Otis Redding - (Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay

thats three so I'll stop now, and I haven't even put my favourite Pulp song on there, cos I can't choose.

all-time:
idioteque - radiohead

i don't know. this is ridiculously tough. i don't have an answer prepared for this. certain huge albums come to mind and i want to say things like radiohead songs or wilco songs, but it's just impossible.

edit: oh wait, i remember. i do have an answer cooked up for this. just took a second.

talking heads- crosseyed and painless.

one of the more satisfying lyrically and so danceable it hurts.

facts are simple and facts are straight
facts are lazy and facts are late
facts all come with points of view
fats don't do what i wan them to
facts just twist the truth around
facts are nothing turned inside out
facts are getting the best of them
facts are nothing on the face of things.

Side one of Remain in Light is quite possibly one of the greatest sides of any album anywhere. I have a few (that I can think of) that are equal, but none that are superior.

There was a line
There was a formula
Sharp as a knife
Facts cut a hole in us

I love the part(s) where they start singing different things on top of each otehr at different speeds. Love that.
