he mostly attacks the democrats for being pathetic and dumb.
but occasionally he will attack them for doing shitty/evil political crap too.

It's satire people!

As Stewart himself said recently while being grilled by the blowhards on Crossfire, (Tucker Carlson and the other douche) "..my show comes on after puppets making crank calls..".

I watch the Daily Show almost every night it's not about political posture. The way I see it, both sides get equal doses of ridicule. As the honorable senator from Alabama noted, going after the Bushies is like shooting fish in a barrel. We can all point and laugh when someone steps on their dick.

I like that Stewart handles his interviews with tact and respect despite his obvious disagreement with certain guests. He is rarely contentious or argumentative and often brings out the lighter side of some very seriously anal retentive writers and politicians.

Dan Savage ridicules him in his "Savage Love" column every chance he gets.

Two points. First, it's not the Bush jokes that are the fish in the barrel, but most of Stewart's jokes.

Secondly, Stewart is rarely contentious partly cause even he knows that he can't debate with his guests. He just ain't that brilliant.

i thought that was a big cop out.it is satire, but he's also not shy about giving his honest opinion.

and he's good at giving his honest opinion through satire, and to pretend it's all just jokes is a lie.

so when cross-fire called him out for being soft in the Kerry interview, i agreed with them 100%

Savage has also taken to using Santorum's last name to describe a certain rather nasty bi-product of man on man action.

yeah, but outside of people like us and loveline devotees, i don't think savage's column has the nationwide syndication that we're all hoping it should. i mean why hasn't some national press pointed out "he fucking posed with his dead baby in his arms!" or the dude in western PA who choked his mistress? what the fuck? how is that not news? if jude law did it CNN would break the fuck down, but someone in a position of power does it and they fucking build him a statue? this is why i think we're all cruising to hell.

Is Savage or anyone pointing out shit like THIS?

You know, I may not like conservatives, and liberals just annoy me, but what I really fucking hate is open hypocrisy.

holy shit. seriously, i have no idea how any gay person could possibly support these retards. unless they're milionaires. and even then it's still hypocrisy.

do these people come out in an attempt to pre-empt a smear by the left or is this sorta shit only revealed AFTER a Walter Jenkins-type scandal?

I have tried repeatedly to watch the Daily Show and I just don't understand what all the hoopla is about, some funny moments, but some write ups have him and the show as the second coming of comedy which is lost on me. I have to say I'm somewhat pleased that I'm not the only one who feels this way. Actually, I kind of feel the same about Conan. I catch the daily repeats every morning now and while there are funny moments, I don't understand the slavish attention he gets from some people. He probably gives the worst monologues ever, you can time his jokes.

You of all people should know that it is truer and better than what passes for Real News these days. I mean, unless you are watching John McLaughlin or McNeil/Lehrer or the Sundays, you are usually getting the same news from the Daily Show as you are on other outlets.

Samantha Bee is the funniest woman on tv right now. if SNL was just the news i might disagree with that, but as it stands

i'm pretty sure "savage love" is at the very least in every major city, and probably more than that.

yeah i understand that it probably should be excepted as a true(r) news source as they do disclose more information than the mainstream news outlets, but the same could be true of rush limbaugh and sean hannity--they disseminate more news than most news outlets too but i alway see them for what they are and take that into account when i hear what they are saying.

That's a good point, but since the legit news media is so "biased" (depending on who you ask...) I kinda listen to all of it and form my own opinion.

I only watch The Daily Show, listen to NPR and read The Nation. I don't even pretend to follow conservative media outlets anymore. Well, I do visit Yahoo News and CNN.com once a day, but those are pretty balanced.

And that is why dudes like me and Elvis Fu get frustrated with y'all.

If you don't know your enemy, you will never beat him, and strangely DailyKos and The Nation are almost just as much my enemies as Limbaugh and Hannity.

I would have agreed with Tucker Carlson that Stewart was being soft on Kerry because he was a liberal, if I hadn't seen multiple John McCain and Bob Dole interviews with Jon Stewart where he was exceedingly polite and threw soft balls.
Stewart is almost always soft on whomever he is interviewing. He wants to give everyone the chance to be open and honest about whatever they are there to discuss before being more argumentative.

yeah, but on page 93 of the free weekly. i mean i know there's a a large reader base, but it's not like the average person is checking out his column and trying to brush up on smegma terminology, ya know?

i remember being frustrated that he got him to say NOTHING in that interview. So when they called him on it, i thought he acted like a baby.

i'm a big fan of Jon's, and watch it every night.
