I don't think it was good for either side of the aisle. It looks desperate. Bill Frisk was just giving some political cliches to try and make republicans look like they were planning to do this. What he was really thinking is "I can't believe that f'ing idiot just bypassed senate."

At least Bolton's views are consistent with current US foreigh policy.

It's unfortunate but that fucker in the White House brings the worst out in all of us.

The only thing redeeming about him is Dalen's ass. ;)

recess appointment aren't that new, considering this is Bush's 106th recess appointment. That's in roughly 6 years.

on the other side of the coin, Clinton had 140 over two terms. Not small by any means.

reagan had an astounding 243 over two terms.

however partisan this may look, it still, in my opinion, reflects a necessary evil in politics.

It's a good move for both sides because we have little support in the General Assembly and basically use our pocketbook and Security Council Veto to control what the UN does and/or avoid doing anything not in our interests. No matter who we have in that positions, the administration and Conservatives in this country will insure their agenda is pushed abroad.
The Democratic party would have continued to look like whiny bitches by blocking the Bolton appointment and should quietly let this recess appointment go by and focus on the Court. The moderates in the Republican party should be happy that they don't have to lie to justify voting for Bolton to spite the Democratics when alot of them equally detests the man and his Neo-Con agenda. The hardline Bushies and Conservatives should be happy they can focus their attention on packing the courts. It also saves them from an embarassing failure.

Thats... unusually well-put for here. I think the senator might even support that statement.

It's the UN. This is like being upset over whatever decorator they hired for the guest house on the ranch.

I'm upset the guy was appointed, because I'd prefer we left that parcel of rogues in its entirety. A colossal waste of our time and money.

Yeah what's the point of arguing over this if this administration doesn't bother to listen to the UN anyways?
